Native Vote - Voter Contact Specialist

Join Wisconsin Native Vote to make a difference in your community by helping to increase voter turnout and educate voters. Wisconsin Conservation Voices is looking for 2-3 energetic and outgoing voter contact specialists to join our Native Vote team. The voter contact specialists primarily focus on nonpartisan voter registration, education, and engagement. These are part-time, temporary positions through mid-November 2026 and will be based in or near the Menominee, Oneida, and/or Stockbridge reservations.

Wisconsin Conservation Voices centers community voices to build a clean environment, healthy communities, and a thriving democracy.  Wisconsin Native Vote is a nonpartisan program dedicated to improving voting access for Native people in Wisconsin. What You’ll Do

This position will work closely with our Native Vote team to engage voters in the democratic process and to elevate the voice of Indigenous people in Wisconsin. The position is focused on engaging community members in the voting process and will focus on direct voter contact. The work will be focused on door to door canvassing, community engagement, and site based voter outreach. The work will be concentrated in Menominee, Oneida, and Stockbridge Munsee.  At its core, this role has these areas of responsibility:

Community Engagement

• Table at local gas stations, grocery stores, pow wows, farmers markets, and community events with an emphasis on registering and encouraging people to vote.  
• Identify and arrange to be at community events to provide voter education material, register individuals to vote, and encourage vote tripling.

• Attend community events at local high schools (could include sporting events) to register new voters and encourage participation in the voting process.

Door-to-Door Canvassing

• Hold meaningful conversations with voters.
• Register eligible voters when appropriate.
• Complete assigned turf.
• Recruit volunteers and lead canvasses.
• Attend assigned trainings.
• Represent the organization professionally.

• Track data and report progress of goals in our database (EveryAction).
• Engage in consistent communication with Native Vote supporters, volunteers, and partners. 
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Should Know

Work Experience: Experience in customer service, community organizing, or related experience such as volunteerism, extra-curricular campus involvement, or community service activities is preferred.

Skills: Demonstrate experience and success with community engagement; ability to lead and engage a team of volunteers; understanding of, or ability to learn quickly about, voting procedures; comfortable with or able to learn databases and tracking systems.

Conditions: Able to work evenings and weekends. Able to do routine office duties such as typing and using a phone. Able to table at events, go door to door canvassing (walk for extended periods, climb stairs, carry materials up to approximately 5 pounds), and have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Status: This position is part-time between 10-20 hours a week dependent on candidate preference. This is a temporary position through November 10, 2026. Training will be provided.

Compensation:$26 per hour

Reports to: Regional Tribal Organizer

Please notethat since employees are paid through our 501(c)(4) nonprofit sister organization, employees are not eligible to participate in the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
