Job Title: Patient Financial Counseling & Client Support

Working Hours:8:00 AM -4:30 PM Central Daylight Time, Monday - Friday
Salary rate :$5-$7 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate clients on insurance benefits, coverage options, and financial responsibilities for services rendered.
- Meet with clients to review payment options, including uninsured, underinsured, and commercially insured individuals.
- Assist clients in applying for Medicaid, insurance programs, financial assistance, and other available resources.
- Determine eligibility and apply grants, funding sources, and sliding fee scale programs when appropriate.
- Coordinate referrals, advanced beneficiary notices (ABNs), and other required financial documentation.
- Provide compassionate and professional customer service while addressing financial concerns and questions.
- Establish payment plans tailored to clients' financial situations and monitor compliance.
- Collect self-pay balances and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Post client payments accurately and reconcile daily cash and payment transactions.
- Review aging reports and conduct proactive outreach regarding outstanding balances.
- Assist with monthly collection efforts for newly discharged clients.
- Participate in collections review meetings and assist in assigning accounts to external collection agencies when appropriate.
- Support all phases of the collections process while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, patient financial services, medical billing, insurance verification, or revenue cycle management.
- Knowledge of insurance benefits, Medicaid eligibility, patient collections, and payment plan administration.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR), billing systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Basic requirements
- Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
- Must have relevant work experience
- Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
- Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
