
Composition Area, Student Assistant
The Composition Area at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve asComposition Area, Student Assistant. We’re looking for acreative and responsibleindividual tosupport initiatives within theComposition Area. This position reports to theProgram and Administration Manager, Mannes School of Musicand is anideal position for students who are interested in a career in thecomposition or classical music-related field.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with rehearsals and scheduling of Composition Department activities.
Liaise and coordinate with the College of Performing Arts Production Office and Library as needed
Assist in the coordination and promotion of activities related to the Composers Collective.
Assist with Departmental activities in coordination with the Chair and as assigned by the Program & Administration Manager.
Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current student in the Composition area (BM, MM, or PDPL in Composition).
Previous administrative experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current student in a College of Performing Arts degree program
Recipient of Federal Work Study award
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position -Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-Onsite
Hourly Rate:$17.00
Hours per Week:2-3 hours per week on average (estimated 40 hours per semester)
