Location: Home-based (travel required) This role covers areas across the South East; from Hampshire to West Sussex

We’re looking for an inspiringarea manager to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team.You’ll be acting as anambassador for Cancer Research UK, supporting the cultural aims of the charity whilst maximising area sales and profits.You’ll lead yourteams and will have responsibility for the effective management of people,resource and budget in your area. Â
You’ll also be surrounded by people who are as dedicated to beating cancer as you are. Â

What will I be doing?Â
Driving key performance indicators across your area. These include area income, expenditure budgets, processing targets, average selling price, sell through rates,fundraising and customer service. Â
Overseeing the commercial running of your area and makingcommercial decisions based on data. Â
Being aware of trends on the high street, and amongst charity retailers, and applying that knowledge and learning to your area. Â
Supporting your teams in areas such as recruitment, development, retention, performance management,equality and diversity andfundraising.  Â
Ensuring shop standards are metwith regards to displays and merchandising, stock management and generationand store layouts.Â
Implementing national volunteer recruitment campaigns andsupporting other divisional and national projects.Â

An inspiringmanager withexperience of successfully leading a diverse team of people, particularlya teamwho are geographically spread. Â
Comfortworking within targets and motivating others to achieve those targets.Â
Commercial awareness with excellent business judgement. Â
The ability tobuild networks andwork collaboratively.Â
Adaptability in changing situations, including being able to work effectively independently. Â
Experience of leading a retail team.Â
