JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/ Objective
The Vice President of Veteran Services is responsible for the Leadership and Operations of Volunteers of America Northern Rockies' Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota Veteran Se1vice programs. Responsibilities include ensuring program compliance with policies and procedures, staffing and performance management, business planning, risk management, and client services.
Essential Functions
- Establish and maintain community relationships to promote program advocacy; represent the organization in the communities
- Responsible for leading the daily operations of program operations, including contract compliance, start-up, and delivery of contracted services.
- Set and evaluate program deliverables and develop established goals/benchmarks to monitor impact and deliver care across services.
- Responsible for business forecasting and development as a member of the executive team.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators for Directors of veteran programs.
- Oversight, reporting, and contract procurement, including grant preparation and statistical analysis.
- Ensure facilities and programs comply with certification, accreditation and contractual requirements
- Assist the Development Team in fundraising efforts for Veteran programs
- Provide leadership in areas of staff management, training and performance
- Strategically manage programs for continuous improvement and efficiency of services
- Advocacy and outreach for all VOA programs

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is required for this position.
Required Education, Experience, or Eligibility Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in social services or related field
• Five years of experience in management and working with veterans
Preferred Education and Experience
• Master's degree in Human Services or related field
• Five or more years of experience in management, supervising employees and working with veterans
