* Design, architect, and build backend systems end-to-end that perform reliably at scale
* High velocity: ship bug fixes within 24 hours of being reported by users

Job description:

## Who we are
We are a small, product-obsessed team spread across the world. We view the software we create and the services we give to our users as our craft, honed day after day. Our motto is to save people time on what they *have* to do, so they have more time for what they *want* to do. There is no better tool than the calendar to achieve this.

We don’t care where you got your degree or if you even have one! This is what we look for:
- Warmth
- Clear thinking
- Bias towards over-communication
- Excessive attention to detail

We’ve raised $5M in funding from top investors like Altos Ventures, Y Combinator (S18), Joe Gebbia (Airbnb Co-founder), Steve Chen (YouTube Founder/CTO), Dick Costolo (former Twitter CEO), Eric Wu (OpenDoor Founder/CEO), Alex MacCaw (Clearbit Founder/CEO), Hustle Fund, and more.

## Technologies we work with:
- Ruby on Rails
- React
- Typescript

## Job description:
- We are looking to add an early full stack engineer to help build out complex real-time infrastructure and ship exciting new features from scratch.
- The calendar is a very exciting (and difficult) technical problem to work on. On the surface it looks like just a static grid of meetings and events, but there is a lot happening behind the scenes to ensure high reliability and accuracy.
- In the age of remote work, the calendar has become the launchpad to everyone’s work meetings - it’s something people use 30-40 times a day.

## Nice to have:
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript. However, we welcome engineers with experience in any dynamic backend language, especially those who are eager to learn and adapt.
- Experience and enjoy working on small, highly productive engineering teams.

## Key responsibilities
- The role will be 75% frontend (React) and 25% backend (Ruby on Rails)
- Work with high web hook traffic, continuous calendar syncing, multiple 3rd party APIs, and difficult time-related problems (e.g. time zone conversions and recurring events)
- Design, architect, and build systems end-to-end that perform reliably at scale
- Bring to life delightful world class user experiences
- Work with the latest AI stacks and APIs
- Ship constantly and consistently

## You maybe be a good fit for this role if you:
- Simply love to code — we don’t care where you got your degree or if you came out of a bootcamp. Our engineering team includes people from non-traditional backgrounds such as economics and law.
- 2+ years of experience
- Contribute to open source or have taught programming before
- Are interested in self-improvement and productivity tools
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with complete ownership of a project
- Have a bias toward shipping
- Enjoy creating beautiful products and have great taste
