Business Analyst

Location: Mechanicsville, VA (Hybrid)

Duration: 9 months

Position Summary:

Seeking for a Business Analyst to support the tolling modernization program. The role involves performing business and system analysis across microservices, data workflows, and application modernization. The Business Analyst will develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and communication materials while collaborating with developers, architects, QA testers, and operational teams. This position reports to the Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and document business and system requirements for microservices, API workflows, and modernization efforts.
• Create user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and other structured documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, and operational teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Facilitate clarification sessions to ensure alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
• Use Azure DevOps Boards to manage backlog items and track progress.
• Provide QA support as needed, focused on validating user stories and confirming acceptance criteria.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and project leadership.

Required Skills:

• 7 years of business and system analysis experience.
• Experience creating requirements for APIs and modernization initiatives.
• Strong Agile/Scrum experience.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Boards.
• Ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to interpret basic SQL queries and understand relational data structures.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
