League Coordinator

Position reports to: Discipleship Manager

Position Description:

The League Coordinator will ensure effective disciple-making sports leagues.

     6. This individual will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and written, in the local official language.

     7. This individual must possess an elementary level in the English language.

     8. This individual will have strong attention to detail with an analytical, systematic thought process.

     9.  This individual must have excellent organizational, administrative, and management skills.

    10. This Individual should have good people management and conflict resolution skills.

    11. This individual should have the ability to work with volunteers.

    12. This Individual must have the ability to lead, influence, and give direction to team members.

    13. This individual must be willing to work with and alongside a team to ensure mission success (including working in other areas of the ministry as directed by the Discipleship Manager or Center Manager).

   14. This individual must be an active member (serving) in good standing (with regular attendance) with a local evangelical Church.

Time Requirements: 

This position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Travel Requirements: 

Local travel may be heavy at times.

Position Duties:

The League Coordinator will ensure effective disciple-making sports leagues. 

1. Ensure effective League(s)

1. • Plan, organize, and execute all special league events

• Coaches Orientation
• League Promotion
• League Registration
• League Finals

1. • Direct weekly coaches’ training meetings
   • Work with the Age Group Coaches to organize and properly maintain league gear and supplies in the league storage rooms, keeping an accurate inventory.
   • Create and post League Fixtures and results
   • Ensure all advanced league players are registered with our Vapor Academy
   • Ensure attendance, by coaches’ names and by league participants’ names, is updated weekly and maintained in Box.com
   • Work in conjunction with the Facilities Manager to ensure proper field rotation

  2. Manage All Coaches

• Ensure Vapor’s Coaches are trained following Vapor standards and procedures as described in the Coaches Handbook and 3P documents
• Ensure all Age Group Coaches are trained following Vapor standards
• Recruit, select, and train coaches for the league, ensuring each coach has a strong understanding of the Coach Manual and their discipleship role
• Develop each player as a leader or future leader in their community and church
• Ensure all Vapor FC Team players serve in some role in the Vapor league

 3. Coordinate League Activities

• Ensure that each category is allocated enough time as indicated in the coaching handbook
• Ensure that all training fields are marked before the league Match and training kickoff
• Ensure that all teams and coaches are in the correct attire during league training and match days
• Provide the right training equipment for each age group
• Ensure that all training equipment is cleaned and returned to their respective rooms

 4. Oversee League Finances

• Assist the Discipleship Manager in creating the annual League budgets
• Prepare the League monthly grant requests
• Ensure that we are securing the best value (not price) for all goods and services
• Ensure that all expenses have a proper receipt and are turned in weekly

 5. First Aid Management

• Maintain certification in basic first aid and CPR
• Ensure a proper first aid kit, by age group, is maintained
• Ensure that minor injuries are attended to and recorded
• Ensure injuries that cannot be managed with basic first aid supplies are required to be taken to a local clinic and properly documented and reported to the Poverty Alleviation Manager
