Zayo is seeking a talentedSenior Systems Administrator - Logical Inventory to join our growing Logical Inventory team. In this role, you'll be a key player in building, scaling, and automating the next generation of our network tooling infrastructure.Â
TheApplication Administratoris responsible for the administration, configuration, operational support and data integrity of Zayo’s logical network inventory application, Netcracker. The role supports the full application lifecycle, including configuration, production support, troubleshooting, testing, releases, upgrades, data quality and reconciliation. The Application Administrator works closely with Network Engineering, Functional Leads, Product Management, Infrastructure, Integration teams and Netcracker/vendor resources to maintain a stable, accurate and effective inventory environment.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Administer and support the Netcracker Resource Inventory application, including application configuration, reference data and administrative functionsÂ
- Coordinate routine cadence with Netcracker and other vendors for product roadmaps, upgrades, defects and new functionalityÂ
- Plan, coordinate, test and communicate application changes, patches and upgrades with the application business owner and technical stakeholdersÂ
- Develop and execute use-case, regression and data-validation test plans and perform unit testing as neededÂ
- Triage production problems, investigate root causes and resolve or coordinate resolution of application, data and integration issuesÂ
- Provide on-call support for production applications and participate in incident response and operational support activitiesÂ
- Support the integrity, completeness and accuracy of logical network inventory through SQL analysis, data validation, reconciliation and controlled data remediationÂ
- Support bulk inventory loads, migrations, transformations, and reconciliation activitiesÂ
- Identify and correct inventory discrepancies, missing relationships, duplicate records, stale data and other data-quality issues, with emphasis on sustainable root-cause resolutionÂ
- Develop a deep understanding of Netcracker, supporting infrastructure, application integrations and network inventory data flows to effectively troubleshoot and improve the environmentÂ
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and runbooks, and provide support to other parts of the organization as neededÂ
QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field, OR a minimum of six (6) years of experience supporting enterprise or packaged applications. Certification(s) are a plusÂ
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across application, data and operational environmentsÂ
- Strong organizational, communication and collaboration skills, both oral and writtenÂ
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities; this is a technical application administration and inventory management position, not a data entry positionÂ
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with technical teams, functional leads, subject matter experts and vendorsÂ
- Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment and managing multiple operational prioritiesÂ
- Keen attention to detail and ability to analyze complex technical and data issues while protecting production inventory integrityÂ
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and engage leadership or subject matter experts when appropriateÂ
- Experience documenting and analyzing processes, procedures, application configurations and operational practicesÂ
Technical SkillsÂ
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in SQL is required, including analysis of complex datasets and data-quality issuesÂ
- Minimum of five (5) years of Logical Inventory experience required (e.g. Netcracker, MetaSolv or comparable OSS/network inventory platforms)Â
- Experience modeling network structures, resources, and relationships within a logical network inventory system, including network elements, interfaces, connectivity, services, and dependencies.Â
- Ability to work in Linux environments is requiredÂ
- WebLogic Server administration experienceÂ
- Experience troubleshooting application integrations, APIs and data flows between enterprise systemsÂ
- Apache and web/application server experienceÂ
- Python scripting or development experience for automation and operational toolingÂ
- Experience with network inventory, discovery and reconciliation processes; proficiency in MS Office, particularly Visio and Excel, is a plusÂ
​Estimated base salary range: $112,800 - $173,600 USD/annually.Â

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
