As a Materials Management Technician I, you will support the Main Campus Service Center by delivering products, receiving/reconciling items at the receiving dock, issuing storeroom stock supplies and stocking supplies onvariousfloors, ORs and clinical areas. In this role, your work is vital to the overall organization and functioning of the hospital system, allowing you to indirectly improve the lives of patients,caregivers, and the community every day.Â
A caregiver in this position worksM-F, 6:00am—2:30pm.Â
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â
Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizing deliveries to ensure the safe receipt of goods and supplies.Â
Upload freight, supplies, packages, and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment.Â
Verify accuracy of shipments, check for damage to goods, document variances of orders, and resolve incomplete deliveries and other related problems with purchasing and accounting.Â
Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizing deliveries,sorting and labeling loads ensuring the safe,correct andtimely delivery of orders.Â
Properly pack anddetermine method of shipment toensuretimely delivery of goods for outbound shipments.Â
Receive storeroom stock items from shipping and receiving area, unpack and inspect items for damage, verify accuracy of shipment andinput information in the warehouse management system.Â
Stock picking locations usingthewarehouse management system, either manually orutilizing materials handling equipment according toidentifying information(size, style, and numbers) ensuring the safe movement of materials.Â
Perform a physical count of stock for inventory control verification and rotate stock to minimize loss of materials.Â
Survey, fill and stocknursing floors and clinical areas tomaintain Par Level/Automatic Stocking Systems.Â
Communicate with Nurse Managers and Departmentdesignees tofillareas stocking needs andanticipate future needs.Â
Deliver items using necessary equipment toappropriate hospital nursing stations, unload and unpack cases, andstockdesignated storage areas with supplies.Â
Deliver supplies, packages, linen, and food from AGV Depots. Â
Whereappropriate, obtain signature verification that supplies were received.Â
Handle rush storeroom orders.Â
Maintain cleanliness ofthestoreroom area.Â
Collect pallets fromthe area and stack themforpick up.Â
Complete three months of on-the-job training to learn locations of clinic desks, departments, deliveryroutes and proper operation of equipment. Â

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â
Basic knowledge of mathematicssufficient to add and subtract asrequired tomaintainaccurate logsÂ
Knowledge of computer systems including bar code readers, handheld computers, and printersÂ
Must pass the Service Center certification training program for the operation of material handling power equipment andmaintain the certification through periodic reviewsÂ
This certification must be obtained during the90-day new hire periodÂ
One year of experience, preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing, or assembly environmentÂ
Three months on-the-job training to learn locations of clinic desks, departments, deliveryroutes and proper operation of equipmentÂ
Canoperate materials handling equipmentÂ
Must be self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentÂ
Must be comfortable using touchscreen computersÂ
Â
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â
High School Diploma or equivalentÂ
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting items that weigh up to 80 pounds.
- Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 800 pounds, and pull a 2500 pound pallet using a manual pallet jack.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Lifts and carries.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.Â
