Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Automation Engineer to lead the migration and optimization of mainframe automation solutions. This role focuses on transitioning from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS and from CA Automation Point to IBM Systems Automation for Integrated Operations Management (SAIOM).
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency, system availability, and seamless automation processes within a complex z/OS environment. This position will collaborate closely with the Automation team to implement policy-based automation solutions, reduce administrative overhead, and enhance system responsiveness. While this role does not directly impact application development, it will significantly influence automation strategies and operations.

Key Responsibilitie:
- Lead migration projects from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS.
- Lead migration projects from CA Automation Point to IBM SAIOM.
- Configure and implement IBM Systems Automation solutions, including policy-based automation for z/OS environments.
- Develop and maintain automation rules, REXX execs, and System Automation Policy Database (PDB) configurations.
- Provide installation and configuration support for IBM automation products.
- Collaborate with operations teams to optimize system startup, shutdown, and recovery processes.
- Ensure high availability and efficiency of critical systems through proactive automation strategies.
- Document processes, configurations, migration activities, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues within production environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a mainframe operations environment in an operational, service, consultancy, or support role.
- Advanced hands-on experience with IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS.
- Advanced experience with CA OPS/MVS.
- Proficiency with TSO and ISPF.
- Strong Job Control Language (JCL) skills.
- Advanced REXX programming and scripting experience.
- Working knowledge of System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
- Proven experience leading z/OS automation migration projects.
- Experience implementing and supporting NetView for z/OS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of IBM Z software, including system operation, configuration, and automation.
- Familiarity with z/OS startup and shutdown procedures.
- Experience with SMP/E for software installation and maintenance.
- Understanding of alternative automation products within the mainframe ecosystem.
- Experience designing and supporting fully automated IBM Z environments.
