Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AVEVA Wonderware Lead to drive the design, development, implementation, migration, and support of industrial automation and MES/SCADA solutions using the Wonderware/AVEVA product suite.
The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, work closely with manufacturing and business stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of manufacturing digitalization initiatives across multiple sites.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, deployment, maintenance, and support of Wonderware/AVEVA solutions.
- Architect and implement SCADA, HMI, Historian, MES, and AVEVA System Platform applications.
- Gather and analyze business, functional, and technical requirements from manufacturing and operations teams.
- Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable industrial automation solutions.
- Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, testing activities, deployment planning, and implementation.
- Assess AVEVA System Platform 2023 R2 SP1 environments and determine system and infrastructure requirements.
- Install and configure AVEVA System Platform 2023 R2 SP1 while ensuring compliance with licensing and system requirements.
- Provide hands-on expertise across:
- AVEVA System Platform
- Operations and Integration
- InTouch HMI
- AVEVA Historian
- Assess AVEVA System Platform 2014 R2 environments and identify integration touchpoints with external systems, including OEM OPC providers.
- Develop migration strategies for production environments based on system assessments and business requirements.
- Plan and execute production cutovers within the company's established change management framework.
- Troubleshoot and resolve I/O connectivity and integration issues within the AVEVA System Platform ecosystem.
- Support system integration with third-party manufacturing, automation, and operational technology systems.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and successfully support production cutovers and troubleshooting activities outside traditional business hours when required.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development, engineering, and support teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across manufacturing, operations, engineering, and IT to ensure successful project delivery.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, SCADA, MES, or manufacturing systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform.
- Experience with AVEVA System Platform 2023 R2 SP1.
- Experience supporting or assessing Wonderware/AVEVA System Platform 2014 R2.
- Strong experience with InTouch HMI, Historian, System Platform, and Operations/Integration components.
- Experience installing and configuring AVEVA System Platform software and licensing.
- Strong understanding of SCADA, HMI, MES, Historian, OPC, and industrial automation architectures.
- Experience integrating AVEVA/Wonderware environments with OEM OPC providers and external systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly related to I/O communication and connectivity.
- Experience developing and executing migration and production cutover strategies.
- Experience working within formal change management frameworks.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder communication, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to work outside standard business hours when required for production cutovers or critical troubleshooting.
