Work Location: Sylmar, CA (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, debug, and optimize ATE test programs for mixed-signal ICs.
- Lead test development activities on the Cohu DxV platform, the primary ATE system.
- Support validation and production testing.
- Collaborate with design, validation, and product engineering teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and quality.
- Perform characterization, correlation, and yield-improvement activities.
- Support test migration and coexistence between legacy and modern ATE systems.
- Develop documentation for test methods, hardware interfaces, and program flows.
ATE Platform Expertise — Critical
- Strong hands-on experience with Cohu DxV is required.
- Familiarity with multi-site, high-throughput test architectures.
- Experience with:
- Test program development and debugging.
- Device Interface Board (DIB) bring-up and validation.
- Analog and digital instrument control.
- Test-time optimization and parallelism strategies.
Candidates must demonstrate deep functional and operational knowledge of the Cohu DxV platform, including:
Test Program Development
- Write and optimize DxV test programs using native development environments.
- Implement complex test flows for mixed-signal devices.
- Debug test failures and improve overall test coverage.
- Configure and use analog and digital instrument resources.
- Perform precision measurements, including ADC/DAC validation and voltage/current accuracy testing.
- Synchronize digital pattern generation with analog measurements.
- Work with Device Interface Boards (DIBs), probe boards, and load boards.
- Debug signal integrity issues and hardware/software interactions.
- Optimize test time and multi-site efficiency.
- Support yield ramp-up and production qualification.
- Perform correlation between bench systems, validation systems, and ATE environments.
- Perform root-cause analysis of test failures involving hardware, software, or device design.
- Improve test robustness, repeatability, and reliability.
- Experience with 16-bit to 32-bit IC architectures.
- Strong understanding of mixed-signal systems involving both analog and digital components.
- Familiarity with:
- ARM Cortex-M0 or similar embedded processors.
- Sensor-integrated ICs, including accelerometers and sensing elements.
- Signal acquisition and conditioning circuits.
Experience testing and validating:
- Pacing engines.
- Signal-sensing circuits.
- Accelerometer-based systems.
- Experience with Credence D10 or other legacy ATE systems.
- Ability to work across multiple test platforms and legacy environments.
- Background in medical devices or implantable electronics is a strong plus.
- Experience migrating test methods from legacy to modern ATE platforms.
- 4+ years of experience in ATE test development with a strong mixed-signal focus.
- Proven expertise with the Cohu DxV platform — must-have skill.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities in test, debugging, and production environments.
- Ability to adapt to complex semiconductor projects involving multiple programs and platforms.
