Job Description:
The Network Engineer will support hardware architecture design for the next generation of router and network switch product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze high-speed interfaces, including support for 800G line cards and other complex high-speed signals.
- Perform requirements analysis and select key components for major interfaces, including:
- Processor SoC
- DDR Memory
- GPU
- FPGA
- Network Switch
- PCIe Switch
- Clock
- Power Management Devices
- Support electronic product development through hardware architecture finalization, high-level design, critical component selection, schematic capture, and design analysis.
- Develop PCB stack-up models and extract data from tools to meet product requirements for PCB thickness, electrical signal speed, power architecture, and trace impedance.
- Perform pre- and post-PCB design Signal Integrity (SI) analysis, including:
- Clock jitter analysis
- High-speed signal eye diagram analysis
- Overshoot and undershoot analysis
- Crosstalk analysis
- DDR batch simulation
- SERDES interface simulation
- Perform post-PCB design Power Integrity (PI) analysis, including:
- Voltage drop analysis
- Current density analysis
- Plane noise analysis
- Decoupling analysis
- DC drop analysis
- Perform thermal analysis of hot-spot components and identify appropriate materials, such as heatsinks and thermal pads, for effective heat dissipation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Software, PCB Layout, Mechanical, and Application teams, to resolve design challenges and develop robust products.
- Perform board bring-up and electrical validation testing to ensure signal quality and circuit performance.
- Design and validate power management devices.
- Perform system stress testing and board-level functional testing to ensure product performance under all corner-case operating conditions.
- Strong experience with board bring-up and electrical validation testing for signal quality.
- Experience designing and validating power management devices.
