JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is structured as a close partnership with the PGIM Chief Architect and the PGIM Architecture team. The consultant will not own every area listed below end-to-end but will actively contribute to planning, drive execution, and absorb day-to-day work currently handled by the PGIM Architecture team.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Center of Excellence (CoE) Operations
- Partner in the preparation and facilitation of the PGIM Architecture CoE.
- Support agenda development, content curation, presenter coordination, follow-up tracking, and ongoing operationalization of the council.
- Ensure alignment with the PGIM One Realignment.
- Co-author and maintain PGIM-specific reference architectures, design patterns, guidelines, and best practices.
- Focus areas include Azure, .NET, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, and integration scenarios.
- Codify standards as structured artifacts and Markdown optimized for consumption by coding agents, including Claude Code, MCP-aware tooling, and IDE-integrated assistants.
- Enable agent-driven adoption of PGIM standards directly within developer workflows.
- Help drive alignment between PGIM affiliate architecture and the central CTO Enterprise Architecture function.
- Support shared decision-making, reduce duplication, and accelerate architecture alignment.
- Contribute to solution architecture and design for new and modernized platforms built on Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Power Platform.
- Support affiliates including Fixed Income, Private Capital, Real Estate, Jennison, Quantitative Solutions, and Global Wealth/Investments.
- Provide technical expertise across PGIM AI capabilities, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Power Platform Copilot, Copilot Studio, and agentic platform patterns.
- Help shape enterprise guidance around responsible AI adoption, model selection, and reusable AI building blocks.
- Provide architectural guidance across Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory F1, Microsoft Purview, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Azure PostgreSQL, and ADLS Gen2.
- Help guide affiliates through Fabric maturity, domain activation, and governance rollout.
- Co-author the AI strategy for developer and architecture SDLC processes.
- Integrate common CTO tooling, including GitHub, Terraform, Claude Code, Azure DevOps, and Dynatrace, with internal platforms.
- Help deliver a cohesive and productive developer experience.
- Author Claude Skills, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, prompt libraries, and reusable automation components.
- Mentor engineering and architecture teams on adopting these assets and contributing to a shared catalog.
- Support the Engineering Council and Architecture Council as a working contributor.
- Help ensure bi-directional information flow between architecture intent and engineering execution.
- Assist with the preparation, review, and management of EARB submissions on behalf of PGIM.
- Prepare technical write-ups, architecture diagrams, and follow-up artifacts.
- Conduct regular office hours and direct engagement sessions with affiliate development teams.
- Provide architectural guidance, unblock design decisions, and review proposed solutions.
- Absorb engagement activities currently handled directly by the PGIM Chief Architect.
- Produce and maintain architecture documentation in Confluence and Markdown only.
- Ensure artifacts remain current, discoverable, version-controlled, and consumable by both humans and coding agents.
