Job Description:

The Head, LOB Analytics & Insights will shape and lead the Analytics and insights for TD Bank U.S. Lines of Business and federated groups. S/he will be a change agent, innovator and influencer. S/he will bring exceptional leadership skills and the ability to drive sustainable change and improvement across this critical customer facing portfolio, working closely with enterprise-wide leaders and stakeholders. This role will be best served by an executive who will be engaged by the opportunity to build a high performing team, create internal capability to deliver on challenging transformative mandates as well as optimize existing performance

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Hires, develops and manages a cross-functional team which can solve complex business problems leveraging the Bank's investment in data
  • Drives stakeholder adoption of advanced analytics and new ways of operating
  • Dedicated capability, advanced & ad hoc analytics and Real time LOB data requests & analysis
  • Drives proactive analytics and consumable solutions for business challenges
  • Identifies, plans and executes projects across the enterprise where scale, complexity or pace are critical factors
  • Establishes cross functional teams and work with line of business partners and external parties to deliver projects
  • Measures benefits and success and articulate those benefits across the wider stakeholder group
  • Supports work on leading-edge proofs of concept for potential implementation in TD's Technology and data stack

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate and graduate degree in relevant field
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Strong relationships, effective collaborator, communicator and ability to influence.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Facilitate and support change.
  • Translate customer data into actionable insights.
  • Take risks that are understood and can be managed

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Working knowledge of general banking / consumer finance products, policies and operations
  • In-depth industry knowledge, including current big data trends and challenges globally
  • Ability to create business cases and explain the business value of projects
  • Ability to presently compelling solutions to business problems to senior leaders
  • Excellent client relationship skills at the project leadership level, demonstrated effective teamwork, and a track record of consistently exceeding goals
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at senior levels, build deep relationships with various business groups
  • Experienced with working in both a technical and business context and able to translate technical concepts into easy to understand business language

Shareholder Accountabilities:

  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker, with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of translating business requirements into action; the ability to solve complex questions and produce meaningful, easy to digest intelligence to support the business agenda
  • History of delivering impact and results within groups and organizations, developing and executing on strategies to deliver both short term and long-term results
  • Motivated to find innovative ways to enhance capability, methodology and practice
  • Ability to quickly adapt to the changing needs of the business and communicate applicable strategies both internally and externally

Employee/Team Accountabilities:

  • Experienced in leading and building effective teams, from the ground up, to deliver superior results in both the short and long term
  • A proven ability to coach and develop a talented team of data modelers, DBAs and data scientists
  • Ability to motivate, develop, inspire and empower others to proactively adapt to changing environments
  • Promotes positive inter-team interactions and bring a high level of enthusiasm to projects
