Electronics Engineer - Device Testing

What You’ll Accomplish:Â
- Design and build advanced test rigs for electrical and mechanical characterization of quantum devicesÂ
- Develop meticulous test plans and protocols for validating device performanceÂ
- Conduct experimental validation and characterization of electronics systems to meet stringent performance requirements for quantum hardwareÂ
- Collaborate with device designers and electronics engineers to improve test coverage and ensure compatibility with emerging quantum chip architecturesÂ
- Critically evaluate testing methodologies and propose improvements for efficiency and accuracyÂ
- Document test procedures, results, and findings for reproducibility and knowledge sharingÂ

- Strong electronics capabilities for PCB design and configuring test equipment for automated device testingÂ
- Mechanical design skills to create precision test rigsÂ
- Business-level Japanese and English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts, and ensure testing requirements are understood, implemented, and continuously improved.Â
Must-have Skills:Â
- PCB layout and schematic design using ECAD tools (e.g., Altium)Â
- Mechanical CAD proficiency for fixture and rig designÂ
- Strong technical writing and documentation skillsÂ
- Familiarity with test/electronics equipment (multiplexers, VNA, TDR, oscilloscopes)Â
- Experience measuring high-frequency electrical signals and ensuring signal integrityÂ
- Knowledge of embedded systems and FPGA-based control for automated testingÂ
- Master/BSc Degree in electronics engineering or a related disciplineÂ

Nice-to-have Skills:Â
- Experience cryogenic temperatures and testing sensitive quantum devicesÂ
- Background in RF engineering, metrology, or instrumentationÂ
- Experience developing automated testing frameworks using scripting languages (Python, MATLAB)Â
- Familiarity with LabVIEW for experimental setupsÂ
- Understanding EMC and high-speed digital design constraints in quantum systemsÂ
