ABOUT THE ROLE


Responsible for the technical and specialized functions as defined by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and UMass Global University to support and audit the qualifications for admission, preparation and completion of fieldwork, credential recommendations and employment authorizations for teacher and service credential candidates.POSITION SUMMARY:Â Â Â

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Â Â Â Â
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â Â Â

Evaluate, process and update student degree audits as program requirements are metÂ
Provide clear and detailed guidance to students, faculty, and staffregarding credentialing requirements, timelines, and proceduresÂ
Coordinate with the Advising Office to support students facing complex credentialing challenges or unique circumstancesÂ
Contribute to the development and refinement of credentialing processes, policies, and workflows to improve efficiency and student satisfactionÂ
Link licensure documents to student files Â
Serve as the primary point of contact forUMass Global staff indetermining theappropriate credential and/or degree programs for current students Â
Collaborate and communicate regularly with staff and facultyregarding student progress in meeting program and credential requirementsÂ
Respond to student questionsregarding licensure requirements  Â
Process, review, and recommend students to the Commission on Teaching Credentialing (CTC) for all student teaching, licensure, credential,authorizations and state certificates. Including, but not limited to, out-of-state verifications and student qualifications for supplementary authorizations.  Â
Serve as the liaison to County Offices, School Districts, and other entities in the school systemin regards to licensure requirementsÂ
Assist theAssistant Director, Credentials and Assistant Director of Clinical Practice with gathering data for state and federal reportsÂ
Attend CTC workshops for credential analysts andconferences .Â

Collaborate with the Enrollment Coaching Center to address questionsregarding appropriate programs for prospective candidatesÂ

Process intern eligibility applications Â
Monitor and track student progress towards meeting the clearance requirements for student teaching Â
Collaborate and communicate with theClinical team on the application and clearance process for student teachers. Â
Maintain a database of district agreements and track the approval process Â
Work with the Assessment Manager with deploying student teacher, masterteacher and university supervisor surveysÂ

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSES:Â
​​Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experienceÂ
​Prior trainingas arecommending agent by the CTC is preferredÂ
​Experience with student teaching placement, accreditation and credential processes is preferredÂ

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Â Â
Position may berequired to work flexible hours particularly given the need to supportstudents’ or stakeholders’ extended hours of operation and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Applicants for this position are subject to a background check and a criminal history review.Â
The hiring range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographical location, knowledge, skills, years & depth of experience, and equity with internal team members.
