Field Application Scientist - Life Sciences

What you will do (업무 소개):

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) partners closely with the Sales team to drive pre-sales activities, early-stage design-in, and resin evaluation strategies for biopharmaceutical and CDMO customers in Korea.

Based in Korea, the role combines strong downstream purification expertise with a commercially agile mindset, supporting customers across multiple development stages while accelerating adoption of Purolite chromatography resins. The FAS plays a critical role in driving local opportunity coverage, engaging CDMO customers, and influencing strategic design-in decisions.

Customer Engagement & Pre‑Sales Support

•  Partner closely with the Sales team to support pre-sales activities and opportunity qualification, including technical positioning and early-stage design-in of Purolite chromatography resins.

• Engage with biopharmaceutical and CDMO customers in Korea to understand molecule attributes, development timelines, and decision criteria, translating these insights into effective evaluation and adoption strategies.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor during resin selection, proof-of-concept studies, and comparative evaluations, enabling timely and confident customer decision-making.

Applied Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership to drive design-in and adoption of Purolite resins, leveraging practical expertise in chromatography and downstream purification for customers in Korea.

• Support purification activities across discovery, process development, pilot, and manufacturing stages by guiding evaluation design, troubleshooting, and scale-up discussions, including coordination of column packing support where required.

• Recommend scalable, cost-effective, and commercially viable purification solutions aligned with customer timelines and local market priorities.

Design‑In & Regional Opportunity Management

• Lead and coordinate multiple resin evaluations across key biopharma and CDMO customers in Korea, ensuring clear prioritization aligned with Sales strategy.

• Strategically position Purolite resins within customer pipelines and CDMO platforms, with a focus on early-stage programs that have strong downstream scale-up and commercialization potential.

• Capture and leverage technical and commercial insights to enhance pipeline visibility, sharpen opportunity prioritization, and improve win rates across the Korea market.

Sales Partnership & Commercial Enablement

• Partner closely with Sales on joint customer meetings, technical presentations, and follow-up activities across Korea.

• Support commercial objectives through technical seminars, product demonstrations, and customer training tailored to local customer segments and market needs.

Internal Collaboration & Market Intelligence

• Collaborate with Applications, Product Management, Marketing, and R&D to share regional market trends, competitive insights, and customer feedback.

• Support new product introductions and adoption initiatives across the region.

• Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing platforms with application, evaluation, and market insights.

Minimum Qualifications (지원자격):

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or PhD preferred in a relevant life science or engineering discipline.

• ≥5 years of relevant experience in downstream purification, process development, MSAT, or applications.

• Strong working knowledge of chromatographic techniques for protein and large‑molecule purification.

• Ability to interpret chromatography and analytical data (e.g., HPLC, ELISA, SDS‑PAGE).

• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical expertise into clear commercial value for diverse customer audiences.

Preferred Qualifications (우대사항):

• Strong understanding of the biopharmaceutical, CDMO, and biotech landscape in Korea.

• Experience supporting resin evaluation, process development, or technology selection across diverse customer types and development stages.

• Practical experience with chromatography operations across discovery, pilot, and manufacturing environments.

• Experience in customer-facing technical or commercial roles (e.g., FAS, Product Specialist, Technical Sales, or equivalent).

• Ability to manage multiple fast-moving opportunities within the Korea market.
