Java Software Engineer

The Swissquote Tech Hub in Bucharest is meant to create a new high-calibre location for the Swissquote engineering group. The Tech Hub is structured around the design, build and maintenance of innovative and reliable systems, products and services. Operating within a collaborative Agile environment, we aim to deliver effective solutions to the business and our customers using our evolving platforms.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Java Developer to join our dynamic team. As part of our innovative engineering group, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable solutions that support our financial services platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Performdesign reviews, provide input and estimate effort required for implementation
• Designapplication components to meet the business requirements and the functional design
• Writeclean, efficient, and well-structured code that ensures stability, reliability, and performance
• Developunit, integration andEnd2End tests to the highest possible coverage levels by using modern test frameworks
• Providesupport for applications,troubleshooting issues, fixingbugs, and addressingproduction incidents
• Create builds and deploymentbaselines, deployment notes and operating instructions
• Work closely withfinancial experts to gain first-hand experience and discuss possible solutions and alternatives to embed their requests

What you will bring:

• Aproactive,collaborative, andcurious mindset with a strong desire tocontinuously learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Solid experience(4+ years) withJava (versions 8 to 25), with a focus on modern frameworks(Spring/Spring Boot)
• Experience with databases such asOracle, Postgres, and familiarity withRedis
• Knowledge ofRESTful services
• Experience withSpring Data orHibernate
• Proficiency inDocker and containerization
• Understanding of deployment inKubernetes
• Hands-on experience withKafka,Schema Registry
• AdvancedEnglish skills

Nice to have:

• Familiar withAI usage in an enterprise mode
• Some experience withKafka Streams
• Pub/sub client-server architectures, includingWebSockets would be a plus
• Experience withSolr databases 
• Understanding of deployment inIstio or any similar service mesh
