Factory Manager (Ipoh Based)

EHS Compliance and Safety Leadership

Lead a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with Sika policies, Group EHS standards, local legal requirements, and emergency response procedures. Chair the ESH Committee; oversee safety audits, risk assessments, training, incident reporting and investigation, corrective actions, emergency response activities, and communication with SIMT/CIMT. Monitor EHS performance and address hazards or non-compliance promptly.

Production, Planning, and Material Management

Oversee production and material-handling operations to meet quality, volume, delivery, safety, and cost requirements. Ensure efficient use of manpower, equipment, raw materials, and packaging materials, and establish and maintain standard operating procedures for all relevant activities.

Performance and Continuous Improvement

Set and monitor key performance indicators to improve operational effectiveness, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing and other continuous improvement methods to reduce waste and strengthen factory performance.

Asset, Maintenance, and Engineering Management

Ensure factory assets, utilities, and equipment are installed, maintained, and operated safely and reliably with minimal downtime. Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programmes in coordination with the National Maintenance Manager.

Capital Planning and Investment

Plan and execute approved capital investment projects in line with operational needs, business growth, and strategic objectives.

Integrated Management System

Serve as the Quality Management Representative for the IMS, ensuring effective implementation and continual improvement of applicable procedures and standards. Support internal and external audits, certification activities, corrective actions, and compliance follow-up.

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum eight years of factory operations experience in a multinational company or large corporation, preferably within chemical manufacturing or batch-processing operations.
• Demonstrated experience supervising equipment installation, engineering facilities, maintenance activities, and operational teams.
• Strong leadership, people-management, organizational, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently, make sound operational decisions, and collaborate effectively across functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin or Tamil is an advantage.
