Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

We have an immediate need for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer and are seeking a motivated self-starter with experience in secure information systems to join a team of professionals and help defend national security systems.

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is a senior technologist who assists the customer with the identification, integration, and oversight of security technologies within customer enterprise networks. The ideal candidate will bring excellent cybersecurity knowledge to the program and be able to integrate a wide array of security products and technologies. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer ensures that cybersecurity requirements are effectively integrated into information systems through purposeful security architecting, design, development, and configuration. 

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: ActiveSecret US Government clearance 

Responsibilities: 

• Define, plan, design, and evaluate information security systems and architecture 

• Perform requirements analysis, design, and integration for complex security integrations and collaboration infrastructures 

• Engineer, implement and oversee security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information 

• Identify and define system security requirements 

• Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates threats to hosted information systems. Uses cybersecurity tools, defensive measures, and information collected from a variety of sources to identify, analyze, and report events that occur or might occur within the enterprise network in order to protect information, information systems, and networks from threats. 

• Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs 

• Participate in the change management process, and assesses security impact of proposed changes 

• Identify deficiencies (POA&M) and provide recommendations for solutions 

• Create and maintains existing information system security documentation, including SSP, SCTM, Security Configuration Guide 

• Write implementation and design documents describing how security features are implemented 

• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience required 

• Requires technical knowledge in security engineering and IT systems engineering 

• Proven work experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer 

• Experience in building and maintaining security systems 

• Detailed technical knowledge of network and operating system security 

• Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc 

• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools 

• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and tools 

• Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
