Role Overview
Trimark Associates is seeking aTier II Application Support Engineer to support our mission-criticalT1âS Vantage andTrue:SCADA platforms. In this role, youâll work at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure, and operationsâensuring system reliability, resolving complex issues, and improving overall platform stability.
Youâll collaborate with development, OT, integration, project management, and customer operations teams to troubleshoot production systems, support data flows and integrations, and drive long-term improvements. This is a technical, hands-on role for mid-level engineers comfortable owning issues from initial triage through root cause identification and resolution. Ideal candidates will have 3â5 years of experience supporting complex, mission-critical systems and working directly in production environments, along with the desire and ability to grow into full-time software development.
What Youâll Do
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues inproduction, mission-critical applications
- WriteSQL queriesto analyze data issues, database performance, and data integrity
- Diagnose and resolve issues acrossREST APIs, web applications, and backend services
- Partner with developers toidentify root causes, implement fixes, and deploy changes
- Support and monitorWindows and Linux systems and services
- Work within abiweekly sprint cycle, contributing to planning and execution
- Proactively identify recurring issues and implement solutions to improve system reliability and reduce support load
- Communicate findings and resolutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, and/or an equivalent combination of education and practical experienceÂ
- 3â5 years of professional experience in software development, application support, or a similar technical roleÂ
- Experience working in production environments and handling real-world system issues
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of a work visa.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience withSQL Server (writing queries, data analysis and troubleshooting; performance tuning and database management are a plus)
- Understanding ofrelational database fundamentals (transactions, indexing, ACID, DML/DDL)
- Experience troubleshootingweb applications and RESTful APIs
- Exposure toWindows Server environments and administration
- Ability to read and understandC#/.NET code for debugging and issue analysis
- Working knowledge ofHTML and JavaScript for troubleshooting front-end issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex systems
- Ability to supporttime-sensitive, high-availability environments
- Clear communication skills for working across technical and non-technical teams
We donât expect candidates to have deep expertise in all areas, but strong fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience withPostgreSQL and time-series data (e.g., TimescaleDB)
- Linux system administration experience
- Familiarity withDocker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments
- Understanding ofTCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Experience withAzure, especially relational database services and monitoring (e.g., Application Insights)
- Development experience with.NET/C# or other modern languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, Java)
- Familiarity withGit/source control and Agile development practices
- Understanding ofobject-oriented design principles
- Experience withSCADA systems or energy/utilities environments
- Familiarity with industrial protocols such asModbus and DNP3
