Role Overview
The Business Development Representative – SME Forex is afixed-term contract role responsible for driving B2B client acquisition and platform adoption for TreasuryONE's SME Forex offering. The role focuses on identifying and converting import and export businesses with cross-border payment and foreign exchange needs onto the TreasuryONE SME FX platform.
The role combines digital prospecting and screen-share platform demonstrations with regular in-person client engagement as well as, meeting import and export financial decision-makers face-to-face. We are recruiting across multiple provinces, and candidates should be comfortable to travel locally within their province to meet clients in person as it is a core requirement of the role.

Qualifications
- Matric / National Senior Certificate (required)
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Commerce in Business Management, Finance, Economics, or related discipline (advantageous)
Experience
We welcome applications from candidates with 1 to 7+ years of relevant experience in any of the following:
- B2B sales, business development, or client acquisition
- Commercial, SME, banking, treasury, FX, fintech, or financial services environments
- SaaS sales, technology-enabled sales, or platform-based client engagement
- Client-facing roles involving prospecting, lead qualification, follow-up, objection handling, and conversion
- Experience engaging with SME or commercial clients is advantageous
- Comfortable operating in a target-driven, commission-weighted sales environment
- Current or former Financial Advisors
Core Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Business Development
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective SME Forex clients through networking, referrals, outreach, and relationship-driven sales activity.
- Identify and qualify businesses with foreign exchange, cross-border payment, import, or export-related needs.
- Conduct SME Forex platform demonstrations and present solutions in a clear, consultative, and commercially relevant manner.
- Drive client acquisition and conversion in line with agreed sales expectations and commission-based earning potential.
Client Enablement & Relationship Management
- Guide clients through onboarding, documentation, and platform access.
- Support newly onboarded clients to drive adoption and continued usage.
Sales Execution & Pipeline Management
- Manage sales activity with discipline, tracking leads, follow-ups, and conversions accurately.
- Prioritise prospects based on client need, likelihood of conversion, and commercial value.
- Provide regular updates to management on pipeline status, sales activity, client feedback, and barriers to conversion.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work independently while following the strategic sales playbook and approved internal processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support onboarding, platform access, technical queries, and service delivery.
