LOCATION:              WBTC – Wendover, NV

POSITION REPORTS TO:  Operations Supervisor

ROTATING SHIFT: Yes

Purpose & Scope of The Position: 

The WBTC Operations Technician is responsible for taking and labeling concentrate samples. Learn new things and teach others, so that we can improve as individuals and as a team. Perform other functions and duties as assigned by the Supervisor while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect KGHM’s values.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Take and label concentrate samples.
• Communicate clearly via handheld radio.
• Climb/descend ladders several times throughout shift.
• All WBTC employees are responsible for the safety of themselves as well as their co-workers.
• Must be able to shovel and sweep inside Gondola car.
• Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.

Required Education, Work Experience & Training:

• Basic light vehicle operation experience.
• A valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial type of environment.
• Skills pertaining to operation of heavy equipment.

Technical Skills:

• Candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts and 8–14-hour shifts.
• Able to read and understand Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

Travel Requirements:

• Willing to travel as necessary.

• N/A

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to meet the required physical demands, including exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
