Weâre looking for aHealth and Safety Advisor to join our Major Projects team on the projectPapakura to Drury (P2D)in South Auckland. Youâll help lead safety performance across a major infrastructure project, partnering with site teams, clients and subcontractors to drive safe, consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Project Scope: SH1 P2D (Stage 1B) is part of a staged upgrade to improve SH1 and adjacent multi modal travel reliability, access, and safety. Stage 1B ties into Stage1A, NIMT Bridges, and completes a combined 6km of three laned SH1 in both directions, six new motorway bridges and multiple interfacing local roads, over motorway bridges, Shared User Paths (SUPs) and upgraded utilities.

In addition to the above you will:
- Encourage a positive, open and honest H&S culture that empowers teams to speak up and engage
- Provide valuable site advice, lead risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections
- Lead and support incident investigations and recommending corrective actions, driving compliance
- Deliver safety training and staff induction programs, providing education on H&S policies
- Drive safety messages and discussions during toolbox meetings
- Maintain comprehensive documentation in line with regulatory requirements
- Promote operational ownership of H&S compliance, driving achievement of KPIâs
- Stay up to date with industry H&S practiseand regulatory changes
- Building positive working relationships with our clients and subcontractors through proactive engagement and management
Stepping as an Advisory of the business, you will lead proactive engagement initiatives, coach and mentor stakeholders and champion the consistent integration of Fulton HoganâsH&Spolicies to achieve industryâleading safety outcomes.

Weâre looking for someone with:
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Health & Safety or equivalent
- Have 5+ yearsâ experience in a dedicated Health and Safety role preferably within a contracting and construction environments.
- Hold a class 1 NZ full driverâs licence
- Have hands-on experience with incident investigation, risk management, and safety audits
- Be a strong, effective communicator, confident and able to influence and attract engagement
- Solid knowledge of applicable acts, standards and regulations relating to Health & Safety compliance in civil construction activities.
- Be physically fit to walk around large sites on uneven terrain, climb ladders etc.
- Able to work outside of normal working hours (weekends and Night Shifts) on occasion
