General Role Description
Prepare timely and accurate commercial proposals and technical specifications to support sales function for solar power photovoltaic (PV) and repower projects. Create a network of commercial and technical evaluator relationships with clients and vendors to define integrated solutions and build a pipeline of potential business within the photovoltaic inverter market.
Role Accountabilities
·       Research competitors’ existing and obsolete product offerings, assess client situations, and design and develop competitive options applicable to the clients’ individual needs
·       Assess and evaluate technical solutions to meet requirements for client Repower applications by gathering pertinent information from client sites and auditing existing installed equipment
·       Develop electrical and mechanical design specifications for products and systems to upgrade existing utility-scale Photovoltaic (PV) systems to the Company solution
·       Define and procure hardware solutions to meet requirements for a project, in collaboration with clients and original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s)
·       Prepare and deliver presentations at technical conferences and meetings with clients, at client sites as necessary or assigned
·       Track competitive environment to identify new products and technology, and provide comparative analyses to the commercial and R&D teams
·       Monitor industry trends to recommend new product and service features
·       Identify, recommend, and, as requested, develop new solutions, products, and applications to drive business growth
·       Review brochures for technical accuracy
·       Provide product and system feedback and service opportunities for improvement to appropriate management
·       Identify enhanced product or service feature needs by soliciting feedback from clients
·       Evaluate supplier proposals to determine the best technical and most economical solution for the application
·       Develop pricing strategies to maximize project margins
·       Prepare detailed cost elements for the technical specification
·       Effectively communicate these requirements to the clients and internal engineering team
·       Provide technical guidance in the preparation, review, and final commercial proposal generation to client
·       Lead technical and commercial proposal development for projects with limited supervision
·       Prepare commercial proposals and technical specifications to meet clients’ Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements

Minimum Qualifications
·       Associates of Science in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering or equivalent via education and/or work experience
·       5 years’ systems or application engineering experience in the PV industry or related industry power systems experience
·       Demonstrated experience with codes and standards related to the application and installation of utility-scale PV inverter systems
·       Demonstrated success as contributing member in project team
·       Familiarity with SolidWorks, CREO, or other 3D modeling software
·       Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
·       Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
·       Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
·       Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD
·       Availability to travel domestically, approximately 40%, and internationally, occasionally, sometimes with limited notice
Preferred Qualifications
·       Master of Science degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
·       8 years’ systems or application engineering experience in the PV industry or related power systems experience
·       Demonstrated success in client-facing, sales, or marketing related assignments
·       Proficiency in SolidWorks, CREO, or other 3D modeling software
·       Field experience installing utility-scale Photovoltaic (PV) inverter systems
·       Familiarity with UL1741/IEEE1547, NEC 690, or other related standards
