Valterra Platinum, formerly Anglo American Platinum, is a leading primary producer of platinum group metals (PGMs), with integrated mining, smelting and refining operations in South Africa and Zimbabwe, marketing the metal we produce globally. Following our demerger from Anglo American plc, Valterra Platinum is now an independent, publicly listed company with a primary and secondary listing on the Johannesburg and London stock exchanges respectively.
As we embark on this exciting new chapter, Valterra Platinum is positioned to define and pursue its own strategy, anchored in operational excellence, sustainability and long-term value creation. With full accountability for our performance and growth, we are focused on strengthening our capabilities across the entire PGM value chain, from mine to market.
Our independence empowers us to deepen our commitment to stakeholders and lead with purpose - to Unearth Value to Better Our World. We remain steadfast in our ambition to be the world's foremost producer of platinum group metals, while embedding safety and sustainability in everything we do.
If you are driven by purpose and the opportunity to make a lasting impact, we invite you to join us. Apply today and be part of something bigger.
This role is based in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
To serve as the functional subject matter expert and senior systems support specialist for Valterra Platinum's Talent Acquisition technology, with SmartRecruiters as the primary platform. The role combines strong end-to-end Talent Acquisition domain knowledge with hands-on system support to enable reliable, efficient and well-governed recruitment processes for recruiters, hiring managers and candidates.
This is a technology and systems support role, not an operational recruiter role. It is specifically focused on Talent Acquisition and SmartRecruiters. Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central is advantageous because of the connection between recruitment, hire and employee master data.
Who we are looking for ?
We are looking for someone who understands both sides of the work: how Talent Acquisition should operate and how an enterprise recruitment platform must be configured, supported and improved. You should be able to engage credibly with recruiters and hiring managers, translate process needs into practical system solutions, diagnose issues and work confidently with technical teams and vendors.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Act as the functional subject matter expert and primary senior support specialist for SmartRecruiters.
- Apply strong Talent Acquisition domain knowledge to ensure system workflows and support decisions enable effective recruitment practice, governance and user experience.
- Support the end-to-end recruitment process in SmartRecruiters, including requisition creation and approval, job advertising, candidate management, screening and selection, interviews, offers and the handover of successful candidates for hire and onboarding.
- Maintain and improve approved SmartRecruiters configuration, workflows, templates, notifications, reference data, user roles, permissions and business rules.
- Monitor, diagnose and resolve system, process, data, integration and user issues; coordinate resolution with Talent Acquisition, P&O stakeholders, Information Management, support partners and SmartRecruiters where required.
- Manage business requirements, enhancement requests and the prioritised improvement backlog for Talent Acquisition technology.
- Coordinate releases, configuration changes, regression testing, user acceptance testing, deployment readiness and post-release support.
- Support reliable integrations and data flows between SmartRecruiters, SuccessFactors Employee Central and other approved recruitment services, escalating technical issues to the relevant owners.
- Protect system integrity through appropriate access control, data privacy, information security, retention, audit readiness and compliance practices.
- Enable accurate operational recruitment reporting and data quality by maintaining clear business rules, data definitions and process controls within the Talent Acquisition system landscape.
- Build user capability through practical guidance, training material, knowledge articles and targeted support for recruiters, hiring managers and system users.
- Identify and implement practical improvements that simplify the recruiter, hiring manager and candidate experience while maintaining appropriate governance and control.
- NQF 7 Bachelor's degree / BTech / Advanced Diploma in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, Technology or a related discipline.
- SmartRecruiters certification or formal platform training is advantageous; demonstrable advanced hands-on SmartRecruiters expertise is essential.
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central certification or relevant functional experience is advantageous.
- A business analysis, project, change or technology product certification is advantageous.
- Valid EB / Code 08 driver's licence.
Experience
Essential
- Five to seven years' relevant experience across Talent Acquisition operations, Talent Acquisition technology, applicant tracking systems, HRIS support or a closely related environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of the end-to-end Talent Acquisition process and the needs of recruiters, hiring managers, candidates and P&O teams.
- Advanced hands-on experience supporting SmartRecruiters in an enterprise environment, including configuration support, troubleshooting, user administration, testing, releases and enhancements.
- Experience translating recruitment requirements into system workflows, business rules, support processes and workable improvement solutions.
- Experience working with system vendors, technical teams and business stakeholders to resolve incidents, manage changes and improve adoption.
Advantageous
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, particularly recruitment-to-hire data flows and the employee master-data handover.
- Experience supporting Talent Acquisition technology in a complex, multi-site or high-volume operating environment.
- Experience with integration testing, implementation or major platform improvement initiatives involving SmartRecruiters.
Technical knowledge and skills
- SmartRecruiters expertise:strong functional understanding of the platform and practical ability to support configuration, workflows, templates, notifications, users, roles, permissions, testing, releases and issue resolution.
- Talent Acquisition domain knowledge:deep understanding of requisition approval, sourcing and advertising, candidate management, screening and selection, interviews, offers, hiring handover and recruitment governance.
- Systems support:advanced ability to analyse incidents across process, configuration, data, integration and user behaviour, and to coordinate effective resolution.
- Requirements and improvement:proficient ability to gather requirements, map processes, document business rules, define acceptance criteria and translate needs into practical enhancements.
- Testing and release support:proficient skill in test planning, regression testing, user acceptance testing, release readiness, defect management and post-release support.
- Data and integration awareness:sound knowledge of recruitment data quality, interfaces, access control, privacy, security, retention and audit requirements.
- User enablement:ability to make system use simpler through clear guidance, learning material, knowledge articles and targeted support.
- Stakeholder management:strong communication and collaboration skills across Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, P&O, Information Management, support partners and vendors.
- SuccessFactors Employee Central:functional knowledge is advantageous, especially where recruitment outcomes flow into hire and employee master data.
