Timmons GroupĀ is currently seeking aĀ Civil Project Engineer II/IIIĀ to join ourĀ Roadway Design Transportation Groupin ourVirginia Beach, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects and grow your career with a collaborative and innovative team.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesĀ of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects
- Develop 3D models and plans usingĀ AutoDesk Civil 3DĀ and/orĀ Bentley OpenRoads Designer
- Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software
- Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages
- Perform roadway and drainage calculations using engineering software and reference materials
- Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates
- Research and utilize open-source GIS data for project planning
- Conduct field observations and data collection to support design discussions
- Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance team capabilities
- Participate in client and contractor meetings to support project delivery
Skill/RequirementsĀ of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- AĀ Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Civil EngineeringĀ or a closely related field
- 2+ years of experienceĀ in transportation civil engineering, specifically roadway design
- Proficiency inĀ Bentley OpenRoads DesignerĀ and/orĀ AutoDesk Civil 3DĀ preferred
- Familiarity withĀ VDOT standards and proceduresĀ preferred
- EIT certificationĀ preferred
Compensation:Ā Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$90,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
