
Facilities Attendant
The Facilities Attendant provides support to both TCA locations, the Jones Center downtown and Laguna Gloria in west Austin. This person will help oversee daily operations of buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities:
- Ensurehigh quality general maintenance of site facilities and equipment, including the historic Driscoll Villa, the Gatehouse, Visitor Center, and the Jones Center
- Assisting and monitoring outside vendors on site,granting access, and relaying information to the Facilities Managers and Facility Attendant Leads.
- Assist other departments leads in the setting up of events for rentals, TCA publicprogramming, family programming, education visits, art school classes and executive events including tables, chairs, tents, etc.
- Event support for our large fundraisingevents The Very Rary and Art Dinner.
- Noting and documenting facilities issues on TCA’s internal reporting app in Teams.
- Taking part in special projects like site development,reorganization
andassemblingof officefurniture etc.
- Takingdirection on projects and daily tasks from Facilities Managers and Deputy App.
- Assisting withcrowdand trafficflow inside the grounds at busy times.
- Opening and closingbuildings as needed by schedule or event needs.Includes arming and disarming alarm systems.
- Taking part in all Health and Safety Training that TCAfacilitates.
- Setting up, using, and troubleshooting
radios, loudspeakers, and basic AV equipment.
Qualifications:
- Available to work flexiblehours including evenings and weekends
- Reliable transportation to/from both museum locations
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of conditions including extreme heatand cold
- Comfortable with basic hand tools, shop vacs, sump pumps, floorbuffer and pressure washers
- Strong problem solver
- High attention to detail; highly organized
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to climb16ft ladder
- Self-starterwithability to work independently
- Team player
- Positive attitude
- Clean driving record
