What You’ll Do:
As an Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Specialist, you will manage the complete lifecycle of the Trustees’ outgoing vendor payments and incoming client revenues.Â

The AP/AR Specialist plays an instrumental role in the company’s financial stability by safeguarding liquidity, maintaining accurate accounting records, and fostering positive relationships with vendors and clientsÂ
The Role:Â
A valued part of the Accounting Team, the AP/AR Specialist manages the end-to-end process for both accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), requiring a detail-oriented individual proficient in financial systems to process transactions and maintain accurate recordsÂ
Â
Specifically, you’ll:Â
- AP DutiesÂ
- Work in tandem with the AP Administrator to verify and process vendor invoices in a cloud-based AP platform, MineralTreeÂ
- Communicate with vendors and colleagues to resolve discrepancies with invoices and/or invoice codingÂ
- Review incoming paper invoices and route to the appropriate approver in MineralTreeÂ
- Schedule and execute vendor payments, ensuring timely processingÂ
- Manage vendor information and ensure compliance documentation is currentÂ
- Ad hoc vendor and payment analysis, journal entry submission, and other projects as directed by SupervisorÂ
- AR DutiesÂ
- Administer cloud-based AR Platform, BILLÂ
- Create and send accurate customer invoices BILL and the general ledger, NetSuiteÂ
- Monitor incoming banking activity and communicate with colleagues to ensure that revenues are posted accurately to the general ledgerÂ
- Apply customer payments and resolve discrepanciesÂ
- Handle collections by monitoring aging reports and contacting customers about overdue paymentÂ
- Deposit all checks received by the organizationÂ
- Reporting and ReconciliationÂ
- Reconcile third-party AP and AR systems with the general ledger and resolving discrepancies Â
- Support month-end closing activities and reportingÂ
- Maintain records and assist with financial auditsÂ
This is a full-time, exempt position (40 hours/week) reporting directly to the Assistant Controller. Â
What You’ll Need:Â
Skills and Experience:Â
Required:Â
- A minimum of 4-6 years of professional experience in transaction processingÂ
- Associate's degree or equivalent educational experience, preferably in an area related to Accounting, Finance, or Business ManagementÂ
- Digital literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically MS ExcelÂ
- A proven ability to manage external service providers and their platformsÂ
- Strong communication and customer service skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detailÂ
- Ability to foster positive, professional, and productive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendorsÂ
- Willingness to learn and develop new skillsÂ
- Ability to transit to the Boston office to perform in-person tasks on an ad-hoc basis.
Preferred:Â Â
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field  Â
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and AP/AR automation tools (BILL, MineralTree, Concur, etc.)Â

Eligibility Criteria:Â
- Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.Â
- A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
Compensation Range:The full compensation range for the position is $68,250Â -Â $87,750. Offers will be made in the following range ($68,250 - $79,950) and will depend on experience.
