Position OverviewÂ
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington is looking for a highly organized Communications Coordinator to help keep our Communications team running smoothly. From coordinating department projects and supporting communications campaigns to assisting with events and donor experiences, this role helps ensure work moves forward efficiently and consistently.Â
You'll serve as the operational hub of the department, keeping projects organized, deadlines on track, and colleagues connected. Working closely with teammates across Communications and partners throughout Federation, you'll help turn ideas into well-executed communications, events, and experiences.Â

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Support the DepartmentÂ
- Coordinate department meetings, schedules, calendars, and planning activitiesÂ
- Prepare agendas, meeting materials, notes, and follow-up itemsÂ
- Maintain project trackers, timelines, planning materials, templates, and shared resourcesÂ
- Help keep projects organized, deadlines visible, and priorities moving forwardÂ
- Coordinate communications projects across campaigns, email, web, content, and organizational initiativesÂ
- Track deliverables and help ensure materials move smoothly through the appropriate review and production processÂ
- Prepare, proofread, and format communications materials, presentations, and planning documentsÂ
Support EventsÂ
- Assist with planning and execution of Federation events and donor experiencesÂ
- Coordinate event materials, logistics, vendors, planning documents, and other operational detailsÂ
- Provide on-site event support, including setup, registration, guest support, and breakdownÂ
- Help identify and resolve planning gaps before events occurÂ
Collaborate Across the OrganizationÂ
- Partner with colleagues across Communications, Development, and other departments to coordinate projects and informationÂ
- Build strong working relationships with vendors, venues, and external partnersÂ
- Help ensure stakeholders have the information, materials, and support they need to keep projects and events moving successfullyÂ

- The Communications team operates efficiently because projects, priorities, and information are well organized and easy to manageÂ
- Communications materials, events, and donor experiences are consistently prepared ahead of deadlines, with minimal last-minute issuesÂ
- Colleagues and partners have confidence that they know what is needed, when it is needed, and where projects standÂ
- Communications and event operations are consistent, organized, and aligned with Federation's standards for quality and professionalismÂ
QualificationsÂ
- 1–3 years of experience in communications, project coordination, event support, or a related fieldÂ
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and project management tools such as ClickUpÂ
- Sound judgment, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented approach in fast-paced or changing environmentsÂ
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to anticipate needs and manage multiple competing prioritiesÂ
- Familiarity with Jewish customs, traditions, and community life, or a willingness to learn, is preferredÂ
