Description

The Enterprise Data Catalog Senior Product Lead supports the strategy, execution, and continuous evolution of Huntington's enterprise data catalog product, powered by the Alation platform. This role is responsible for driving the delivery and adoption of catalog capabilities that enable trusted data discovery, business context, governance, operational scale, and AI readiness across the organization.

The Enterprise Data Catalog Senior Product Lead brings deep hands-on experience with Alation, agile product delivery, metadata management, and solution-oriented execution. This individual contributor serves as a key liaison between business, technology, governance, analytics, architecture, risk, and control stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable catalog capabilities and measurable business outcomes.

The Enterprise Data Catalog Senior Product Lead partners closely with data, technology, governance, analytics, architecture, risk, and control leaders to execute the product roadmap, manage feature delivery, optimize platform capabilities, and continuously improve the user experience. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to help position the data catalog as the enterprise knowledge layer that supports trusted decision-making and AI enablement

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support execution of the enterprise data catalog roadmap, aligned to enterprise data, governance, and AI priorities
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable work plans, product requirements, feature releases, and implementation activities
  • Support day-to-day product management activities, including backlog refinement, release planning, dependency management, and delivery tracking
  • Partner with product and business leadership to assess priorities, evaluate opportunities, and recommend capability enhancements that drive adoption and business value
  • Drive implementation of data catalog capabilities and feature releases, ensuring work is well-defined, appropriately sequenced, and aligned with business objectives
  •  Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for Alation capabilities, including metadata management, stewardship workflows, business glossary, lineage, search and discovery
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate working sessions, document needs, and translate requirements into actionable product backlog items
  • Support roadmap planning, feature prioritization, backlog refinement, release planning, and value realization activities
  • Coordinate and monitor delivery activities across internal teams, technology partners, and vendors to support successful execution of roadmap commitments
  • Assist in optimizing Alation capabilities to improve adoption, usability, metadata quality, and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to solution design efforts for catalog enhancements, integrations, automation opportunities, and process improvements
  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, implementation plans, and supporting documentation required to deliver catalog enhancements
  • Monitor product performance metrics related to adoption, onboarding, metadata health, feature usage, delivery progress, and user engagement
  • Prepare and maintain product reporting, implementation updates, roadmap updates, status reporting, and stakeholder communications
  • Coordinate testing, business readiness, communications, training, documentation, and post-release activities supporting feature deployments
  • Partner with governance, risk, privacy, and data management stakeholders to ensure catalog capabilities support enterprise control requirements and strengthen trust in critical data assets
  • Identify metadata, process, and platform gaps and develop recommendations that improve user experience, operational efficiency, and platform value
  • Develop and maintain catalog-related standards, procedures, job aids, playbooks, and supporting documentation
  • Support onboarding efforts by guiding users, data owners, stewards, and business partners on catalog capabilities, standards, and best practices
  • Facilitate stakeholder forums, requirement discussions, and capability planning sessions to support alignment across business and technology teams
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on how metadata, business context, and governance capabilities support analytics, automation, and AI use cases
  • Build strong working relationships across the enterprise and influence outcomes through expertise, collaboration, organization, and execution excellence
  • Maintain awareness of data catalog industry trends, emerging capabilities, and leading practices to support continuous product evolution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of experience implementing data governance frameworks (e.g., data policies, standards, and controls), experience developing and/or implementing data governance policy and standards, and experience working with IT and/or business segments on the analysis of complex business processes and data governance needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Alation Data Catalog platform
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Scaled Agile environment
  • Strong product management mindset
  • Strong solution-oriented thinking with the ability to translate business needs into practical, scalable platform capabilities
  • Experience building work plans, managing delivery against deadlines, and driving accountable execution across multiple priorities
  • Very strong written and verbal communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience supporting AI readiness, data discovery, and trusted data enablement through strong metadata and governance foundations
  • Strong knowledge of metadata management, business glossary, data lineage, stewardship, and data governance concepts
  • Experience administering, configuring, implementing, or optimizing Alation capabilities
  • Experience supporting enterprise data catalog adoption, onboarding, training, and change management initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and drive outcomes in a matrixed environment
