We have a client seeking a Senior Android Developer in Reston, VA.

The ideal candidate will work with evolving coreĀ AndroidĀ libraries and components to develop the upcomingĀ Androidapp, mentor developers who are new to theĀ AndroidĀ platform, take charge of and provide direction to junior and mid-level engineeers, help make the correct technical architecture decisions, and shape the future ofAndroidĀ team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Deep and broadĀ AndroidĀ platform experience.
  • 10+ years of software development experience.
  • AdvancedĀ AndroidĀ UI skills (Fragments, custom view components).
  • Leadership skillsā€”mentoring and giving direction to more junior programmers

Desired skills (each a big plus)

  • AndroidĀ UI automation (programmatic and/or non-programmatic).
  • Custom view components.
  • Memory management.
  • Multi-threading
  • Performance tuning.
  • A good handle on working with git.
  • Experience with code review tools and processes.
  • Pair programming (some not 100%).
  • Experience with HIPAA compliant apps.
