Product Engineer

from 🇺🇸 United States

We're hiring a Product Engineer; a rare hybrid who has lived at the intersection of product, design, and code. You've got a strong UX/UI foundation and real product-management chops, and over the last couple of years you've become a genuine builder, shipping production code yourself with AI-assisted tooling. You care about how things look, how they feel, and whether they actually work.

You'll own our design system, our aesthetic, and our visual identity inside the product; you'll run design reviews and UAT as team-wide processes; and you'll ship code alongside the engineering team, fixing issues you find rather than filing them and walking away. This is a builder's seat with a designer's eye and a product owner's judgment.

Teserac, Inc. builds an AI-native platform for data center observability, intelligence, and workflow automation. Our software helps operators monitor, analyze, and manage mission-critical power and infrastructure systems in real time, supporting environments where clarity, speed, and reliability matter.

This is an opportunity to join a team working at the intersection of product design and engineering, shaping software used to understand and operate complex infrastructure. As a Product Engineer, you will help define how the product looks, feels, and functions, bringing strong product judgment to decisions that improve usability, quality, and consistency as the platform evolves.

Responsibilities

  • The design system. You'll define, document, and maintain a coherent component library, design tokens, and usage patterns so the whole team ships consistent, high-quality UI.
  • The aesthetic and visual identity in the app. You are the steward of how Neuron™ looks and feels; typography, color, spacing, motion, and the overall craft of the interface.
  • UAT as a process. You'll design and run our User Acceptance Testing process for the entire team; defining what "done and correct" looks like before anything reaches a customer.
  • Design reviews. You'll lead them; setting the bar, giving actionable feedback, and keeping quality high across every surface.
  • Fixing what UAT surfaces. When you find an issue, you'll go into the codebase and fix it; front-end bugs, UI regressions, polish, and the occasional deeper change.
  • Web design when needed. You'll lend your eye and hands to the marketing site and other marketing surfaces when they need it.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong UX/UI design foundation, including experience translating product requirements and rough concepts into polished, usable interfaces.
  • Experience owning design systems and the visual craft of a product, including typography, color, spacing, motion, and overall interface quality.
  • Track record of making product prioritization decisions and sound judgment calls during product reviews.
  • Experience establishing design review and user acceptance testing practices that teams follow.
  • Experience prototyping and building real product UI within the same workflow, and shipping production code directly rather than only filing issues.
  • Hands-on experience reading and fixing code in a production codebase, including resolving front-end bugs, UI regressions, and polish issues directly.
  • Strong front-end development experience with React, TypeScript, and CSS or Tailwind, using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar.
  • Experience applying visual design judgment to improve product usability and quality in complex, data-dense B2B or enterprise SaaS interfaces such as dashboards, observability, time-series, or operational tooling.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage, fast-moving environment where processes are defined as the team goes.
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering and partnering with product, leadership, and other cross-functional teammates to guide reviews, user acceptance testing, and product decisions.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing visual design work to marketing websites or other web surfaces when needed.
  • Familiarity with Vite.
  • Familiarity with Django or Python for occasional deeper fixes.
  • Exposure to data visualization design.
