Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering services company with over 30 years of experience, specializing intest coordination and industrialcommissioning. TES also supports its clients in engineeringstudies and theassembly coordination of industrial equipment.
As part of our expanding activities on major infrastructure projects, we are currently looking for aSenior Risk Analyst (m/f) to act as a technical expert within our project controls risk management organization.
Working as a risk management expert within theIntegrated Project Controls (IPC) team for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power station project, the Senior Risk Analyst ensures the uniform implementation of the risk strategy across designated project programs/areas. You will oversee contract delivery portfolios valued between£10m and £500m, guide Risk Analysts and Trainees, and serve as the main face of risk management to Program Directors and executive leadership.
This role is integral to underpinning delivery success acrossEngineering, Procurement & Manufacturing, Construction, and Commissioning phases, directly driving HPC critical success factors:
Integrated baseline delivery
EPC critical path execution
Milestone achievement leading to Commercial Operation Date (COD)
Operating Environment Context:
Highly regulated mega-project environment under the oversight of theOffice for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).
EmbeddedNuclear Safety Culture.
Strict adherence to project delivery priorities:Safety, Quality, Time, and Cost.
Key responsabilities :
Technical Leadership & Team Guidance: Direct daily workloads, provide technical mentorship, and review the work quality of Risk Analysts and Trainee Risk Analysts. Lead risk management and software training for project managers and apprentices.
Risk & Opportunity Management: Maintain and assure all risk/opportunity data within dedicated software systems (e.g.,ARM). Lead scenario planning, risk workshops, and reviews with Program/Area Directors.
Integrated Analysis: Connect risk data across project controls disciplines (cost, schedule, change). Work alongside Project Controls Managers and Tier 1 Contractors to assess contractor-held risks and opportunities.
Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA): Utilize advanced tools likeSafran to run quantitative risk assessments and inform baseline schedule and cost estimates with high-quality risk data.
Reporting & Executive Engagement: Accountable for producing and presenting risk insights at Board Meetings, Program Reviews, and ROTCS. Manage and verify risk metrics withinPower BI dashboards.
Governance & Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to risk procedures, frameworks, and reporting tools. Ensure strict protection ofSensitive Nuclear Information.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Education: Degree level or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such asManagement of Risk (M_o_R) Practitioner and/orAPM Risk Level 2.
Experience: Demonstrable expertise in risk management within complex project environments, with a strong track record of cross-functional integration and senior stakeholder facilitation.
Desirable:
Experience in major complex construction projects.
Experience within the Nuclear industry or other highly regulated sectors.
Knowledge, Skills & Software Tools :
Software Expertise: Expert user and trainer inARM (Active Risk Manager),Safran (QSRA),Power BI, and MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to simplify complex quantitative risk concepts for executive leadership.
