What you'll do...
Role summary:The Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, is responsible for managing and executing exterior maintenance projects to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable facility operations. This role oversees budgeting, procurement, and quality assurance while coordinating with internal teams and third-party providers. The position requires adherence to safety and environmental regulations, effective troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance of equipment and grounds. The Technician supports continuous improvement initiatives, maintains compliance with company policies, and fosters a productive work environment through collaboration and clear communication, contributing to the overall operational excellence of Walmart facilities.
About the team:
The Exterior Services Technician team is committed to maintaining the outdoor areas of Walmart and Sam’s Club locations through skilled landscaping and equipment operation. Focused on safety, collaboration, and efficient resource use, team members perform tasks such as mowing, pruning, mulching, and equipment upkeep. The team maintains high standards to enhance site appearance and functionality, ensuring welcoming environments for all visitors and associates. Professionalism and teamwork are central to completing projects successfully while fostering a productive and respectful work atmosphere.
What you'll do:
- Manage and prioritize exterior facility service projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and execute budgets, including cost estimates and approval of purchases for parts, materials, and equipment.
- Perform seasonal maintenance activities such as landscaping, snow and ice management, and equipment servicing.
- Operate and inspect heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead third-party providers through coaching and performance evaluations to maintain service quality.
- Troubleshoot facility issues and communicate effectively with users to resolve concerns.
- Coordinate with Home Office to standardize equipment and optimize inventory levels.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance and equipment operation.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations with a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
- Ability to manage budgets, approve purchases, and control costs effectively.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer concerns.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining powered equipment and vehicles safely.
- Demonstrated leadership in coaching third-party providers and managing work priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support team and stakeholder engagement.
- Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and integrity in all tasks.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
