Description: TheMedical Technologistis responsible for the collection, processing, and analysis of biological specimens in the laboratory. This position is also responsible for the preparation of reagents and has comprehensive knowledge of specimen collection (such as venipuncture or collecting hazardous or infectious materials for culture) in order to act as backup to phlebotomy team and may perform venipuncture and/or collect cultures.

Responsibilities

(60%)* Analyzes and processes biological specimens, organizes workload and sets-up test procedures.
(20%)* Evaluates appropriateness of patient and quality control results and enters into the Laboratory information system. Strictly follows critical notification policy when results meet stated criteria.
(15%)* Maintains inventory and reorders reagents. Stocks shelves. Disposes of biohazards, chemicals, etc. in a safe manner following department procedure.
(5%)* Maintains and troubleshoots instruments.

RequirementDescription:

2+ Years of MLT Experience -[REQUIRED]
Experience with Sunquest and Epic -[REQUIRED]
Experience with Ortho Blood Bank and Chemistry, Siemens coag and urines, Sysmex hematology -[REQUIRED]
Candidates' Permanent Address(Facility willnot consider local candidates - 50 mile radius restriction)- Required
