What you'll do...
Role summary:The Lead Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, oversees and guides associates in maintaining high-quality exterior facility standards. This role ensures compliance with safety and operational policies while managing landscaping, seasonal maintenance, and equipment upkeep. The position requires coordinating work assignments, providing technical expertise, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility sustainability and efficiency. The Lead Technician fosters a collaborative environment by mentoring team members, monitoring performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective problem resolution and adherence to company standards. This role is critical to sustaining safe, functional, and visually appealing exterior environments.
About the team:
The team ensures facility upkeep through routine and preventive maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Guided by experienced leaders, members develop troubleshooting skills and gain hands-on experience with maintenance tools while following safe work practices. Collaboration is essential, with team members supporting inspections, repairs, and documentation to maintain functionality and safety. The group emphasizes continuous learning, adherence to ethical standards, and regulatory compliance, working collectively to sustain high-quality facilities that meet business needs efficiently and reliably.
What you'll do:
- Supervise and support associates by assigning duties, providing feedback, and monitoring performance to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Train and coach associates on company policies, procedures, and compliance with external regulations such as OSHA and DOT.
- Manage landscape maintenance, including planting, pruning, pest control, and seasonal exterior tasks like snow and ice removal.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring safety checks and proper documentation.
- Coordinate equipment purchases, budget preparation, and maintenance to optimize facility operations and reduce costs.
- Lead teams to meet business priorities, promote continuous improvement, and deliver excellent customer service.
What you'll bring:
- Proven leadership experience supervising and developing associates in facility or exterior services.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping, horticulture, and exterior maintenance practices, including pest and disease management.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
- Skilled in managing compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and DOT.
- Proficient in coordinating work schedules, budgets, and equipment procurement to optimize operations.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills to address facility user concerns effectively.
- Strong communication and coaching abilities to support team performance and continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Ability to to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and ability to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass a motor vehicle report.
No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
