Overview

• We are looking for an Accounting Team Lead to join our Finance team. The role will manage the accrual side of accounting for key operations of the company, including loan-related income and expenses, in accordance with US GAAP.
• The Accounting Team Lead will contribute significantly to the company’s monthly and yearly financial reporting. The role requires experience with accounting for companies operating under US GAAP.
• The Accounting Team Lead will lead a team of analysts, ensuring their work is accurate and completed on time to meet the 10-business-day closing deadline. The role will also be responsible for determining the appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions and events as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare FAS 91 working papers for deferred income and expense accounting.
• Reconcile loan collections with bank activity and post the respective accounting entries.
• Calculate asset resolution gains and losses.
• Account for interest expense and interest income.
• Account for prepaid expenses.
• Account for loan suspense adjustments and loan-related income and expenses.
• Prepare account reconciliations for balance sheet items.
• Lead the team of 2 Accounting Analysts and ensure their work is accurate and completed on time.
• Contribute to the company’s monthly and yearly financial reporting.
• Determine the appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions and events as they arise.

Typical Day-to-Day

A typical day or week in this role may include:

• Posting loan activity, including loan collections, debt payments, and interest payments.
• Reviewing the work of analysts on a weekly basis.
• Preparing weekly asset resolution gain/loss calculations and accounting for the related activity.

Role Requirements

• Education

• • Graduation/Post-Graduation in Accounting
  • Intermediate Chartered Accountancy (Inter-CA)

• Experience

• • 5–10 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience applyingUS GAAP.
  • Experience with financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Experience leading or supervising accounting team members.
    

• Work Requirements

• • Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Eastern Time.
  • Must have a stable internet connection and professional remote working setup.
