Expenses Administrator

Salary: R23 000 – R25 000 per month

Remote Recruitment is hiring aExpenses Administrator for a UK-based employer, fully remote from South Africa.

Role overview

You will process and check UK staff expense claims, keeping spend accurate, compliant and reimbursed on time. This is a hands-on role where accuracy and follow-through matter every day, and you will be trusted to work independently without being chased. You will also be part of a supportive remote team, with regular check-ins, clear priorities and the tools you need to do your best work from day one, so you always know what good looks like.

You will work UK business hours (09:00–17:00 UK, 11:00–19:00 SAST) from home, as part of a South African team placed directly with established UK employers. Remote Recruitment supports you from placement onwards.

Key responsibilities

• Check expense claims against receipts and company policy
• Code expenses correctly in the accounting system
• Chase missing receipts and clarify queries with claimants
• Prepare reimbursement batches for approval
• Report monthly spend trends to the finance team

What you'll need

• Experience processing expenses in Expensify, Xero or similar
• Good Excel skills
• Attention to detail with receipts and coding
• Clear, polite written communication
• Comfort working to payroll and month-end deadlines

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Dext or Fyle
• Experience with VAT on expenses
• Corporate card reconciliation
