The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Department of Pharmacy’s mission is to improve people’s lives through pharmacy practice innovation, comprehensive medication education, and collaborative clinical and practice research. The Retail Fulfillment Pharmacy Manager acts in a front-line supervisory role within the Retail Fulfillment Pharmacy for the staff of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns. In this role, the Retail Fulfillment Pharmacy Manager maintains functional expertise, provides patient care, maintains compliance with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, and leads and participates within appropriate hospital or departmental committees, in addition to direct supervision of groups noted above.
Position Summary
The Retail Fulfilment Pharmacy Manager provides oversight for the day-to-day operations of The Ohio State University Outpatient Pharmacy-Ackerman’s fulfillment services, implements the department's strategic plan, maintains compliance with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, and takes ownership for process improvement related to the provision of high-quality, cost-effective pharmaceutical care. This position oversees hiring, orientation and evaluation staff pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns; identifies and resolves service problems; conducts research in pharmacy practice; manages personnel; assists with the financial management and budgeting of the department; provides online staffing; and participates in the implementation of new technology to improve services, patient care, patient safety, and educational opportunities for staff and students.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Registered Pharmacist. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
