Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift

Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedMaintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and plant systems in a busy manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience maintaining industrial equipment.Boiler operator and industrial refrigeration experience, especially ammonia refrigeration, are highly preferred.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $21.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Shift: 1st Shift
• Start Time: 6:00 AM
• Union Position

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and plant systems
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, refrigeration, boiler, HVAC, and related equipment
• Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs to minimize downtime
• Perform routine inspections and operational checks of plant equipment
• Maintain and repair refrigeration systems and related equipment
• Perform maintenance on evaporators, condensers, compressors, filtration systems, and related equipment
• Monitor and maintain boiler and utility systems
• Perform mechanical repairs and equipment adjustments as needed
• Change, clean, and replace filters and other maintenance components
• Assist with electrical and equipment troubleshooting as needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, checklists, and documentation
• Request parts, supplies, and equipment needed to complete repairs
• Complete maintenance and purchase requests
• Follow planned and preventive maintenance schedules
• Follow OSHA, EPA, GMP, and plant safety requirements
• Follow Lockout/Tagout and all other required safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance needs in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Prior industrial maintenance experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related industrial maintenance experience preferred/required
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems strongly preferred
• Experience with boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, or other industrial utility systems preferred
• Knowledge of plant safety and GMP requirements
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and maintenance plans

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, reach, and work in various positions
• Ability to work around machinery, conveyors, and moving equipment
• Ability to work in cold, wet, hot, humid, and noisy environments
• Ability to safely perform maintenance tasks in a manufacturing/production facility
