STV is hiring a West Buildings Group - Transportation Market Sector Leader.

As theWest Regional Market Leader, you will drive growth, major pursuits, and industry visibility fortransportation‑related Buildings & Facilitiesacross theWestern United States, with a strong focus on California and expanding key Western state markets.

Your New Role

In this senior, external-facing role, you will leverage a multi-state network of Western regional offices to shape strategy, lead marquee pursuits, and elevate STV’s presence withtransit, rail, high-speed rail, airport authorities and intermodal agencies across the West.

You will operate as aseller-doer and market delivery leader, partnering in a “One STV” execution model to solve our clients’ most complex challenges. Supported by industry-leading SMEs - including multidisciplinary architects, engineers, planners, and project managers, you will fuel long-term growth and position STV as a premier transportation facilities partner across the Western region.

This role reports to theBuildings Group National Development Director and ispreferably based in Los Angeles, CAor near to an STV West Coast office. A hybrid or remote model may be considered depending on location.Frequent travel throughout the Western U.S. is required.

What You’ll Be Driving

Regional Market Growth & Major Pursuits

  • Own and execute STV’sWest transportation buildings market strategy, with accountability for pipeline development, pursuit performance, sales, and backlog.

  • Personally lead and shapemajor pursuits for complex transportation facilities, including:

    • Transit /rail stations and airports

    • Rail yards and maintenance & operations facilities

    • Control centers and operations hubs

    • Administrative buildings and intermodal facilities

    • Building systems and utilities infrastructure improvements

  • Serve asSTV Building’s Groupprimary face to West Coast transportation agencies, including regional transit authorities, DOTs, and major infrastructure owners.

  • Identify and influence opportunitiesyears in advance of procurement, shaping scope, delivery strategy, and teaming.

  • Build and lead high-performing pursuit teams across architecture, engineering, planning and specialty partners.

  • Maintain accurate opportunity planning and forecasting withinDeltek Vantagepoint.

Market Leadership & Industry Visibility

  • Expand STV’s presence intransportation-related architecture and buildings engineering design across the Western U.S.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key agencies such as:

    • LA Metro

    • BART

    • Caltrain

    • California High-Speed Rail Authority

    • Sound Transit

    • Regional transportation commissions and West Coast DOTs

  • Maintain active involvement in industry organizations such asAPTA, AREMA, WTS, AIA, ENR, and TRB, with a focus on West Coast engagement.

  • Speak, present, or serve on panels to elevatethought leadership and market visibility.

  • Leverage your existing network to amplifySTV’s brand and regional influence.

  • Mentor Project Managers, and technical leaders to build a strong West Coast talent bench.

  • Influencestrategic recruiting efforts aligned with regional growth priorities.

Project Delivery & Client Stewardship

  • Serve asProject Executive, Principal-in-Charge, or senior advisor on select transportation facilities projects.

  • Ensure delivery teams are aligned withclient priorities, regional expectations, and agency standards.

  • Translate lessons learned across projects and regions todrive consistency, innovation, and performance.

What You’ll Bring to This Role

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in theplanning, design, or delivery of transit and transportation-related buildings.

  • Proven leadership experience across theWestern U.S. transportation market, including transit, rail, aviation, or intermodal facilities.

  • Demonstrated success leadingmajor pursuits for stations, maintenance facilities, or large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.

  • Established relationships withWest Coast transportation agencies and infrastructure owners.

  • Credibility as aseller-doer, combining market leadership with project delivery expertise.

  • Background as aClient Account Manager, Market Leader, Principal, Practice Leader, Project Executive, or senior technical leader within AEC or PM/CM.

  • Strong desire todefine, grow, and lead a regional market sector, with potential for national impact.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Professional licensure (Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, or equivalent).

  • Conference speaking, panel participation, or published thought leadership.

  • Experience scaling firm visibility and reputation incompetitive West Coast markets.

  • Proven ability to influencerecruiting and mentoring strategies across multiple offices.

  • Experience integratingarchitecture, and engineering disciplines across complex transportation facility programs.

  • Familiarity with:

    • California procurement processes (e.g., design-build, progressive DB, CM/GC)

    • Federally- and state-funded infrastructure programs

    • Long-range capital improvement programs across Western agencies
