Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.Position Description
A student enrolled in an institution of higher education other than Texas Tech University or Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center employed to perform work as assigned by the supervisor.Major/Essential Functions
Student assistants are responsible for:- circulating library materials using the computer system
- assisting students, faculty, and staff on the telephone and in-person
- answering incoming telephone calls and providing information on library services
- redirecting telephone calls with reference questions to librarians
- staffing the Circulation and Reference desks
- assisting patrons with printers and computers
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience
- Must be available to work at least one of the following shifts Mondays through Thursdays
- Mornings: 8:00am to 12:00pm
- Afternoons: 12:00pm to 4:00pm
- Evenings: 4:00pm to 9:00pm
- Must be available to work rotating weekends
- Saturday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Sunday: 1:00pm to 9:00pm

Pay Statement
