Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description

A student enrolled in an institution of higher education other than Texas Tech University or Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center employed to perform work as assigned by the supervisor.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Respond to incoming phone calls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues through phone support.
  • Escalate unresolved technical problems to appropriate ITSC technicians.
  • Assist walk-in customers with registration and support needs.
  • Provide front-line technical support and troubleshooting for walk-in customers.
  • Accurately document support requests, actions taken, and resolutions in the institutional ticketing system.
  • Coordinate the deployment, collection, and inventory management of laptops used for TTUHSC student testing.

Occasional Duties

  • Assist with network troubleshooting.
  • Provide additional support for PC personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Majoring in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field.
  • Experience in direct customer service.
  • Experience providing technical support over the phone.

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website athttps://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.
