Description
We are hiring a 3D Environment Artist on a freelance/contract basis. You will create stunning and immersive game worlds. We're looking for a strong artistic eye, proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting, and experience with industry-standard software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
This is a fully remote, project-based engagement: scope, deliverables, timelines, and rates are defined per work order. It is not a full-time employment position.
Job Skills
3D Environment Artist will possess the following competencies:
Production Ready
- 3dsMax/Maya/BlenderÂ
- Substance PainterÂ
- PBR workflow PhotoshopÂ
- Game asset pipeline (highpoly, game ready lowpoly, texturing, baking)Â
- Unreal Engine Shader/Material/Asset Set-upÂ
- Unreal Engine Rendering (Lighting, Rendering)Â
Additional Skills
Every 3D Environment Artist must also demonstrate at least one (1) additional competency at Production-ready proficiency, or two (2) additional competencies at beginner-level:
- Hard-surface modelling
- Set-dressing / level assembly
- Lighting
- VFX
- Shader creation
- Substance Designer texture creation
- Organic sculpting
- adaptation to clients proprietary engine & workflow
- Zbrush
- UE Blueprints/Scripting
Deliverables Expectations
Freelancers/Contractors will be measured according to the metric below:Â
- On-time delivery of project deliverables
- Outcomes delivered as per project specifications, consistently
- Time spent on an outcome is within project or budgeted mandays
