Industrial Controller

As an Industrial Controller at Movu, you will be part of the Controlling team based in Lokeren, Belgium. The team is responsible for all industrial and project controlling activities across the Movu organization.

You will work closely not only with your controlling colleagues, but also with Operations (Production, Supply Chain and Procurement), Service and R&D teams, providing financial insights that support operational excellence and business growth.

At Movu, we design and manufacture our robots in-house. This creates a unique opportunity to influence costing, inventory management, process optimization and operational performance within a highly innovative and international environment. As Industrial Controller, you will play a key role in increasing transparency, improving efficiency and supporting data-driven decision making throughout our manufacturing operations.

Task and Responsibilities

 

Industrial Controlling & Cost Management

  • Further develop and strengthen the industrial controlling framework within our recently implemented SAP S/4HANA and SAP Analytics environment.
  • Validate and optimize ERP master data and costing parameters, including transformation cost drivers, standard costing and absorption models.
  • Analyze monthly production and operational results and identify key performance drivers.
  • Compare actual production and operational costs against standard costs and absorption calculations.
  • Analyze purchase price variances, production variances and cost price deviations.
  • Review and update costing standards based on operational performance and identified improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze key cost drivers and support initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and profitability.

Product Costing

  • Maintain and improve product costing systems.
  • Verify cost calculations for new and existing products.
  • Support cost calculations and business cases for new products and components.
  • Assist in transfer pricing setup and margin analysis.
  • Proactively identify and resolve costing issues.

Inventory & Working Capital

  • Monitor inventory valuation and unit costs on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze inventory turnover and stock movements.
  • Assess inventory obsolescence based on historical and projected usage.
  • Support initiatives to improve inventory management and working capital efficiency.

Business Partnering & Analysis

  • Act as a financial partner for Operations, Service and Supply Chain teams.
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses and recommendations for management.
  • Perform profitability, ROI, capacity utilization and manufacturing performance analyses.
  • Support data-driven decision making through clear financial insights and business recommendations.

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in industrial controlling, manufacturing finance or costing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product costing and inventory managemen

Technical Skills

  • Strong ERP knowledge;
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP PP is a strong asset.
  • Good understanding of:
    • Purchase-to-Pay processes
    • Cost allocation and project costing
    • Inventory valuation and obsolescence management

Personal Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Hands-on mentality with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Comfortable operating in a changing and growing environment.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
