About the Children’s Scholarship Fund:

The Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF) is a national non-profit organization based in New York City that empowers families by providing children in need with scholarships, and by supporting expanded educational opportunities for all children. CSF has a network of 20 partner programs in 24 cities and regions nationwide, including New Hampshire, where we serve children in grades K-12 through Education Freedom Accounts and Education Tax Credit scholarships.

 

Position description: 

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Content and Communications Coordinator to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career communications professional who is passionate about storytelling, education, and mission-driven work.

 

In this role, you will help share the experiences of students, families, and alumni across the country through written content, digital media, research, and communications support. You’ll gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, content creation, storytelling, social media analytics, and event support while working closely with experienced communications and engagement professionals.

 

The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and communicator, highly organized, eager to learn, and committed to expanding educational opportunity for children and families.

 

This is a remote, full-time position reporting to the Director of Communications.

Primary responsibilities include:

Storytelling & Content Creation

  • Interview scholarship families and alumni to develop compelling stories for CSF publications, events, media outreach, and promotional materials
  • Write blog posts, social media copy, and other communications content
  • Assist in developing digital content for social media, email campaigns, videos, and other multimedia communications

 

Alumni & Family Engagement

  • Conduct outreach to parents and alumni through surveys and follow-up calls
  • Support alumni engagement initiatives, including survey administration and data management
  • Help organize and maintain digital assets including testimonials, photos, videos, and interview materials

 

Communications & Research Support

  • Oversee digital cataloging of family and alumni testimonials, interviews, quotes, photographs, videos, and other communications assets
  • Prepare monthly social media analytics reports and recommend strategies to improve engagement and reach
  • Track media coverage and maintain media contact lists
  • Research education-related statistics, trends, and policy information as needed

 

Events & Team Support

  • Assist with planning and coordination for National School Choice Week, alumni events, and partner events
  • Support day-to-day communications operations and special projects across the organization, including occasional mailings, event support, and administrative projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related fields (including internships)
  • Interest in and commitment to CSF’s mission of expanding educational opportunity for children
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including comfort conducting phone interviews and outreach
  • Experience using content creation and design tools such as Canva and Adobe InDesign, with familiarity creating content for digital and social media platforms
  • Familiarity with AI-powered productivity and content creation tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, or related applications
  • Familiarity with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who is collaborative, adaptable, and eager to learn
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel occasionally (approximately 5%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working or interning in a nonprofit, education, policy, or mission-driven organization
  • Familiarity with social media management tools, Meta Ads, and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, Google Analytics, and digital engagement metrics
