About the Role

We’re looking for a Chief Marketing Officer to lead the marketing engine that will carry Stakemate from our recent exponential growth in the UK to sustainable global scalability. You’ll work directly with the Founder & CEO to own the entire marketing function: brand, growth, funnel conversion, and lifecycle, combining hands-on execution with long-term strategic planning.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to own the marketing roadmap of a company on the rise, deploying and scaling significant budgets in the low millions across multiple jurisdictions while building a brand that takes on the traditional gaming sector.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a lean marketing team, spanning multiple countries/offices and the full marketing stack: Brand, Performance/Growth, Lifecycle & CRM, along with our Sports and Gaming Content teams.
  • Manage our growth team: budgets well over £1m per month and growing rapidly, across channels such as Meta, Moloco, and other UA partners, driving efficient CPA/ROAS.
  • Plan and implement new marketing initiatives such as:
  • Market expansion into new jurisdictions, coordinating the whole project across teams, working on budgets, forecasts, and the commercial/regulatory challenges of marketing a betting product in each region.
  • A scalable brand and creative operation that fuels performance channels and builds long-term brand equity as the business grows.
  • Set the groundwork for product-marketing with best practices across every jurisdiction.
  • Drive our sports and gaming teams from content management to growing revenue.

What We Are Looking For

We need someone who thrives in taking scaleups that have completed the 0-1 journey, and now are on the 1-100 journey:

  • 15+ years in marketing roles with progressive leadership and strategic responsibility.
  • Proven experience managing large paid budgets at scale: comfortably deploying well over £1m per month and scaling spend quickly while holding efficiency targets (CPA/ROAS/LTV).
  • Data and revenue driven: you obsess over the numbers and hold yourself and the team accountable to hit your metrics and drive top line growth.
  • Experience working directly with the CFO on managing budgets and CPO in creating a seamless golden comms thread.
  • Experience marketing across different jurisdictions with different regulations, adapting acquisition, brand, and messaging to local rules and consumer behaviour.
  • Proven track record building or significantly scaling brand across the full funnel: brand & creative, performance/growth, and lifecycle/CRM.

Highly Valuable

  • Background in high-growth B2C / consumer-app businesses.
  • Strong grasp of mobile app marketing, attribution, and the measurement challenges of a privacy-first world.
  • Understanding of how to leverage AI practices and developments into creative production, targeting, and marketing operations.

Work Arrangements

At Stakemate, we believe that building a strong team culture is as crucial as innovating in the sports betting market. You will need to be based in Europe or the East Coast of North America, and expect to travel to see our teams in London and Malta.  

Interview Process

  • 45 min screening call and intro to Stakemate.
  • 90 min marketing/growth round (strategy, channel, and budget deep-dive).
  • 60 min in person interview with the team + 60 min meet the marketing/leadership team members round.
  • 60 min round with our strategic advisor.
